What is Maybank GO Ahead. Challenge 2016? MGAC 2016 is an international, multi-dimensional case challenge that has never been seen been by university competitions worldwide. It tests student competencies in more than just finance but include strategy, behaviour and general knowledge too. It is the 5 th edition of the largest case graduate challenge in the ASEAN region. It is a reality-driven, protracted and exhaustive talent selection platform, specially designed to stretch the candidates limits physically, mentally, psychologically, intellectually and even ethically. Designed and developed by Global Maybank Apprentices (GMAs) to attract potential MAs thereby establishing greater generational resonance and relevance. Information Kit 3

How is MGAC different? WIN BIG MGAC awards the biggest cash prize in the region for a any competition of its type with a total of USD 71,000 to be awarded to the top 3 teams. Additionally, a cash prize and international internship opportunities will be awarded to the Ultimate GO Ahead. Challenger. INTERNATIONAL CHALLENGERS A global finalist enters MGAC 2016 with different international candidates to work with. Last year s finalists came from across ASEAN countries, Africa, UK and US. The competition is a platform not just for learnings but a global community made up of diverse cultures. BEYOND A BUSINESS CASE MGAC will put contestants in challenges simulating the realities of a dynamic business world. MGAC experience is not only limited to business cases but extends to non-traditional challenges such as in the past; amazing race, CSR, strategybase games, marketing pitch etc. Information Kit 4

How is MGAC different? HUMANISING FACTOR A big part of MGAC is where it combines all the elements of logical, lateral and critical thinking with the humanising component. Challengers work in Home Building, Cooking and Feeding the Homeless and compete in teams to raise funds for local charitable organisations. A ONE-OF-A-KIND CHALLENGE MGAC is not just a competition, it is in itself a wholesome experience through its multi-stage challenges, roadshows, Gala dinner and even the campus giveaways! GOLDEN CAREER OPPORTUNITY Selected individuals are given the opportunity to join the prestigious Global Maybank Apprentice Program (GMAP). The first on-sight competition already demands mental, physical and emotional tenacity from challengers against their different cohorts. National Level The countrywide stage aims to select the best to move forward. Therefore the difficulty is significantly notches higher and so is the experience! The candidates from the different universities will clash against each other and against themselves. Global Finals Finalists from 14 countries will contend in a week-long intensive event that will push their limits in the biggest and boldest of ways. The Edge of GMAP Dynamic & Experiential Global Maybank Apprentice Programme As one of the industry s award winning apprentice program, GMAP is designed to provide graduates with a strategic platform to jump-start their career. The program, like MGAC, is not limited to graduates from business disciplines but attract wide range from academic backgrounds. Global Maybank Apprentices (GMAs) undergo 2-year rotations including an international assignment. Apprentices with aspirations to be Chartered Accountants can sign up for GMAP-Plus which offers full certification sponsorship with ICAEW without bond or contract. Information Kit 10

GMAP KEY FEATURES Global The programme is available where Maybank operates. Our presence in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong and China creates opportunity of harnessing some of the brightest young talents in the industry. Personalised Each GMA has a customised rotation plan, designed after career dialogue with the apprentice. Each is assigned a coach from a poll of experienced Top Management of Maybank. GMAs have the unique privilege of being a coachee of some of Mybank s industry leaders. Leading Resources Maybank s culture of performance-base compensation is reflected in the program. Maybank AWARDS Just in 2015 Most Popular Employer for Banking and Financial Services Best Social Media Usage 1 st Runner-Up, Graduate Employer of the Year Best Innovation On Campus Most Popular Employer for Banking and Financial Services For the fifth consecutive year, Maybank has won the top spot for Most Popular Employer for Banking and Financial Services. For the second year running, MGAAC has secure the M100 Best Innovation on Campaus Award. First Runner-Up, Graduate Employer of the Year Maybank was also first runner-up for Graduate Employer of the Year where we were ranked No.2 among the Top 100 Leading Employers in the country. Best Social Media Usage For the first time, Maybank won Best Social Media Usage Award. It spoke volumes on the Bank s social media presence not just in Malaysia but across the region. The award stressed the innovative and effective strategy of MGAC in attracting graduates. One example is the video resumes/cv via YouTube. Another is how the Bank provides real-time updates on career fairs and university engagements through Facebook and Instagram. Best Innovation on Campus MGAC2015 proved to be even bigger than 2014 expanding its programme by increasing campus levels to 27 (13 in 2014). MGAC also added more CSR activities. It is the longest Global Finals with 11 days of continuous challenges. The increased number of campuses has created greater awareness of Maybank s brand; the GO Ahead Employee Value Proposition. Participant FAQs 1 2 3 4 5 Are non-business non-finance majors allowed to join MGAC? Yes. We encourage non-business related majors to join. MGAC is designed to test participants ability to learn fast, their adaptability and character among others which are agnostic to academic background What are the types of challenges are we expecting this year? Based from previous MGACs, challenges vary to test everything from cognitive skills, leadership, teamwork, communication, integrity and personal growth Do we enter the competition as teams or as individuals? Both. MGAC accepts individual applications as well as Team applications. Applying individually will NOT put you in a disadvantage. Will finalists be offered jobs in Maybank? Finalists will have a greater chance to be pipelined to the award winning Global Maybank Apprentice Programme What is the Application Process? Applications submission in person at our Roadshow or Online via website. Selected applicants will be tested via 2 short assessments. Again, No financial background necessary Application period: 22 nd January 30 th April 6 Where can candidates apply? Students are highly encouraged to visit us during our Roadshow and meet our representatives face-to-face. Participant FAQs 7 Can post-graduates apply? Post Graduates can apply so long as the meet they requirement of less than 2 years working experience 8 Where will Campus Level, National Level and Grand Finals be held? Campus level is finalized after online assessments and depending campus interest to host MGAC. National level is usually held within Maybank premises (whether locally and overseas). Global Finals will be held in Kuala Lumpur, with specific venue to be confirmed at a later date. 9 Does the Global Maybank Apprentice Programme have a bond? The Global Maybank Apprentice Programme (GMAP) has no bond after the program. 10 Are there specific streams for GMAP? GMAP s rotation plan offer wide range of options throughout Maybank's departments, including Community Financial Services, Global Banking, Insurance & Takaful, Islamic Banking, Group Finance Office, Group Credit & Risk Office, Enterprise Transformation Services and Group Human Capital.
