University of Missouri Extension 10/1/2010 10/31/2010 Proposals Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City Tom Johnson Time Period: 10/01/2010 12/31/2011 Healthcare Foundation of Greater Kansas City Amount: $32,800 The Healthcare Foundation of Greater Kansas City is partnering with the Community Policy Analysis Center (CPAC) to produce concise summaries of the overall impact of targeted program areas, with a focus on outputs as well as outcomes. The purpose of this analysis is to summarize the results of small clusters of grants, as opposed to evaluating the effectiveness of each individual grantee s project. State Homeland Security CERT Train-the-Trainer Program David Hedrick Time Period: 9/1/2010 11/30/2010 Illinois Emergency Management Agency Amount: $7,200 The activities funded through this Agreement will address Illinois identified planning, organization, equipment, training, and exercise needs for acts of terrorism and other catastrophic events and has been approved by the State Administrative Agency for the State of Illinois and the Illinois Terrorism Task Force. Indicators Time Period: 7/1/2010 6/30/2011 Amount: $470,099 School Turnaround Project Time Period: 7/1/2010 9/30/2010 Amount: $25,080 Soybean Extension Project William Wiebold Mo Soybean Merchandising Council Amount: $30,000 Agriculture Extension faculty will develop applied research in agronomic cropping systems with emphasis on soybean, provide extension field staff and clientele with timely information related to soybean production and management, and serve soybean growers on a national basis through cooperation with the American Soybean Association and United Soybean Board.

This required several trips to the field per week in dry conditions. Electronic tension meters and affordable wireless data transfer systems are now making tension meters a practical tool to help producers make irrigation decisions, but it is important to know at what depth in the soil a particular soil tension cab be used to trigger an irrigation. The Rapid Response Project: Missouri s ASD Roadmap Jo Britt-Rankin Dept of Health and Human Services Amount: $640 Through this funding and a significant donation of time, Extension will aid MU s Thompson Center with a program that improves services for children and youth with autism. Mo River Freight Corridor Thomas Johnson Time Period: 9/30/2010 8/31/2011 Hanson Pro Serv, Inc Amount: $10,000 Extension s Ag program will provide peer review of market potential, market nodes, river management strategies, and overall river development approach.

Indicators Time Period: 7/1/2010 6/30/2011 Amount: $470,099 University of Missouri Extension 10/1/2010-10/31/2010 Awards ExCEED: Extension Community Economic and Entrepreneurial Development Sharon Gulick Time Period: 8/1/2010 7/31/2012 U.S. Small Business Administration Amount: $300,000 The goal of the ExCEED program is to revitalize rural Missouri by creating and supporting regional systems and helping communities create conditions in which entrepreneurs can emerge, thrive and grow. This project will concentrate on the Mississippi River Hills and Ozark Heritage regions of southern Missouri. It will seek to lower business costs and increase sales revenues through network development and resource sharing. The project will also focus on keeping more youth in the area by introducing them to self-employment and business development opportunities, matching them with mentors and negotiating start-up capital. Heartland Regional Water Quality Robert Broz Time Period: 9/1/2010 8/31/2012 Iowa State University (USDA) Amount: $143,558 In cooperation with Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas, Missouri will address water quality issues in the country s heartland. Kansas State University and MU will specifically address topics on Watershed Management: bringing together experts, educators, and agency personnel in roundtable conferences, one major conference, and to design and operate a website. MU Extension Family Education and Reunification Tammy Gillespie Time Period: 12/8/2010 12/7/2011 Missouri Department of Corrections Amount: $60,000 The MU Extension 4-H LIFE Program will work with the Missouri Department of Corrections to implement sequential, family education and reunification programming with offenders and their families via in-person and videoconferencing formats.

Emergency Field guide for First Responder Electric Vehicle David Hedrick Time Period: 10/4/2010 12/4/2010 National Fire Protection Agency Amount: $49,680 MU Fire and Rescue Training Instituted will develop a prototype database for an Emergency Response Field Guide (EFG) that will be available in print and electronic form to the emergency response community. The focus of the EFG will be on production models of Electric Drive Vehicles (EDV) for years 2008-2011.
