2017 Northeast Regional Honors Council Conference Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania April 6-9, 2017 Northeast Regional Honors Council Conference Sponsorship Information

About Us What is NRHC? The Northeast Regional Honors Council (NRHC) is an organization of students, faculty, and administrators dedicated to the encouragement and support of undergraduate honors learning. The NRHC provides its members with opportunities for the exchange of information, ideas, and assistance through its annual conference. What makes honors education special is that the honors community consists of carefully selected students and professors who are dedicated to their program in order to achieve exceptional learning and personal standards. The NRHC encompasses Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Quebec, Ontario, and the Maritime Provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island. Currently almost 200 different colleges and universities are members, which results in more than 600 attendees at the conference. NRHC is a regional affiliate of the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC). Annual Conference Members of the NRHC meet and gather every year in the spring for students to showcase their work in the Northeast region. NRHC not only offers a variety of presentations and discussions to its attendees, it also gives students, faculty and staff the opportunity to interact and exchange ideas with the many institutions that are involved in honors education. Students who attend the annual NRHC conference represent some of the most motivated and talented minds along the East Coast. Many of the students who attend the conference are interested

in internships, transfer opportunities, and/or post-graduate studies. NRHC gives them the chance to learn about other institutions and also possibilities for their future careers. NRHC 2017: Pittsburgh, PA Bridging the Divide: Contemplating Differences and Forging Commonalities This year s theme asks us to consider bridging the divides that emerge in our communities, country, and world by contemplating differences and forging commonalities. The idea of Bridging the Divide is further inspired by our conference location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. With an intricate system of 446 bridges, Pittsburgh is called the "City of Bridges." Conference Facts Four-day conference to exchange ideas, present student research, and discuss honors related issues Held at the Sheraton Hotels and Resorts in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania More than 600 attendees expected, consisting of honors students, directors and faculty Currently almost 1,000 Facebook followers, 100 Twitter followers Conference registration is expected to open in January 2017
