SILAS CARNEAL JONES SCHOLARSHIP FUND The Silas Carneal Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund is dedicated to the memory of Silas Carneal Jones, a 20- year-old college student at the University of Central Arkansas who was killed in an auto accident on November 16, 2003. Carneal s parents, Octavia Moore (step-father, Wadie Moore) and Neal Jones, along with the Silas Carneal Jones Foundation and Little Rock Parkview High School want his memory to live on by continuing with the second annual Silas Carneal Jones Memorial Golf Tournament, which is held in-conjunction with the seventh annual 3-on-3 Youth Basketball Tournament. The format for the golf tournament is a four-man scramble, and it will be held at Stone Links Golf Course in North Little Rock, Arkansas on Friday, March 16 th. The 3-on-3 basketball tournament will be held at Fuller Middle School on Saturday, April 7 th. The Fund has been established to encourage others to follow in Carneal s footsteps by living a rich-filled Christian life, love for all mankind, an open heart to all and that desire to make life better at home, church and throughout the community. The Foundation is administered by a committee consisting of members of Carneal s family, church and friends. The proceeds from the tournament will go to make a Scholarship Endowment a reality for senior high, college-bound students each year. The Foundation thanks you in advance for any media attention to this event. If additional information is needed, please contact Wadie Moore at 501-607-3818 or 501-955-2500.
