Rosso, R.D. Michigan ranks No. 1 in the nation for growing cherries. I hope you find the following facts on cherries interesting. Traverse City, Mich., is the home of the annual Cherry Festival. Cherries, especially dark cherries, are a greater source of antioxidants than grapes, oranges, plums, strawberries and raspberries combined. There are more than 1,000 different cherry tree varieties in the U.S. It is believed that cherries were discovered around 70 B.C. One cup of cherries has only 74 calories. Cherries are actually part of the rose family. The largest cherry pie ever weighed was 39,683 pounds. Eau Claire, Mich., is known as the Cherry Pit Spitting Capital of the World. It holds an annual cherry pit spitting contest. Cherries contain cyanidin, which is an anti-inflammatory and can help treat gout. The average cherry pie has 250 cherries. The annual U.S. cherry crop is 300 million pounds. Michigan cherries make up 75 percent of this count. Michigan has 35,000 acres of cherry trees. The Exotic Zoo Wow, Look at the Size of This Snake, 18 Feet Long! I sure wouldn t want him lost in our building.

Never Alone How comfortable it is to know, I am never alone I feel the presence of the loved ones, I have known. I feel them when I hear, a certain song, when I see a smile that seems familiar In a gentle hug like those I often received from my parents. Throughout the years I ve sometimes asked a friend for the gift of an item, from their home, from their cupboard. A dish covered with lace and roses, a goofy looking bird, a dainty handkerchief, an old photograph. These things remind me that My Life Is Full and with the Blessings from my Creator, that I am Never Ever Really All Alone.
