Although we plan to have a productive meeting and take good care of Section business, our Memorial Day weekend will have more than its share of unique and fun-filled activities. I cannot thank the Convention Coordination Committee Chair, Katherine Frazier, and her Vice Chairs, Angela Adams, Tae Bronner and Debra Boje, enough for their wonderful assistance in organizing and planning a terrific Convention Meeting. If you hold a room reservation at The Vinoy and need to cancel, please remember to notify Yvonne of your intentions by e- mail and wait for her response before contacting the hotel so that your room can be kept in our room block and transferred to another member. If you do not have a room at The Vinoy and need one, please also send an e-mail to Yvonne as soon as possible. It is a pleasure to assist with your planning for this meeting by attaching the following information concerning the many events and activities that have been planned for you: Registration Form. This Form must be properly completed and returned to The Florida Bar with payment or credit card information not later than May 13, 2013. Please register on time. If you do not register by May 13, then your only option is late registration at The Vinoy on a space-available basis. Admission to events for which timely registration is required will be closely monitored at this meeting. Many, many thanks to Angela and Gayla for their outstanding efforts in assembling and organizing this information for you. Here are a few additional miscellaneous tidbits of information concerning some of our planned activities, the details of which may be found in the attached Committee Meeting and Event Schedule, as well as in the seminar brochure: At their Thursday luncheon, spouses and guests can enjoy a relaxing lunch and each other s company, as well as the opportunity to make any plans they may wish for the afternoon. Thursday evening welcome reception at the fascinating Chihuly Collection gallery featuring the blown-glass artwork of Dale Chihuly. This treat is less than a oneblock stroll from The Vinoy. The outstanding Friday morning Homestead seminar has been carefully crafted to engage both Divisions by Co-Program Chairs, Pat Jones and Shane Kelley. The separate registration brochure for this program is attached. Friday s Annual Election Meeting Luncheon will feature member and friend, Pete Dunbar, as our distinguished guest speaker. Pete s very special topic will be A Son Discovers His Father s War, derived from his father s book, Before They Were the Black Sheep. Here s a peek:

Executive Council Members & Fellows April 25, 2013 Page 3 After two days of work, we will recognize the outstanding service of a few selfless members at our annual Awards Dinner. For those of you with children between ages 5 and 12, we have arranged a Kids Night Out at The Vinoy where they can enjoy pizza and snacks, as well as supervised activities and crafts. For many, the highlight of the weekend will be attending our baseball event in a private party area ( 162 Landing ) at Tropicana Field on Saturday afternoon to watch the New York Yankees take on the Tampa Bay Rays. Please be sure to thank Guardian Trust, whose generous sponsorship of this unique event will provide us with plenty of food, snacks, beverages, beer and wine during the game. Buses will depart The Vinoy promptly at 3:00 p.m., so that we can be in our private area well in advance of the 4:10 p.m. start time. As you probably know, Tropicana Field is a very comfortable, enclosed, air conditioned stadium. For those of you who get chilled easily, a sweater or light jacket is recommended. This event was sold out through our earlier registration. Accordingly, if you would like to be placed on the waiting list for tickets (or if you have tickets to release), please immediately contact Yvonne by e-mail at ysherron@flabar.org. Please promptly complete and return the Registration Form and the separate seminar registration form so that all arrangements can be finalized as soon as possible. If you have any questions that cannot be answered after your careful review of this letter and the other e-mail attachments, or if you experience any difficulty in making your arrangements for this meeting, please contact Yvonne or me. I very much look forward to spending Memorial Day weekend with each and every one of you in St. Petersburg. Attachments Very truly yours, Fletch Wm. Fletcher Belcher
