EXTENSION FIELD PROGRAMS HIRING FREEZE Effective date: Tuesday, May 9, 2017 Included: County Stop-Gap for Agents, Support Staff and Program Assistants Currently, counties that drop to only 1 Agent will be allowed to fill 1 CEA position Critical vacancies in support staff will be considered on a per case basis All positions in any level of the process of being filled as of May 8 th will continue Plans are to include Agents and counties in discussions regarding covering all program areas sometime this summer The Hiring Freeze has been initiated in lieu of anticipated changes in organizational structure due to recommendations from the CES Review (not yet released). It is anticipated that any plan would be phased in over a period of time. Though a Two-Agent System has been discussed, the freeze in no way is meant to indicate that a two agent system will be the system adopted. Please be mindful of possible upcoming changes and use caution in spending patterns, especially for large projects.
