I am sure that we are all well rested after a too brief summer and I know that the Archdiocese Committee is well prepared to assist the local committees any way possible to provide the best Catholic Scouting program to our young people. There have been some significant changes over the summer, particularly about how we fulfill orders for books and emblems, and I encourage you to read this newsletter completely to get all the information. As always, I am proud to serve as your chairman, and am at your disposal if there is any question I can answer or challenge I can help you address. TRAINING UPDATE In conjunction with the upcoming retreat, Training Chairman Efrain Ruiz and his committee have announced that Scouter Development training will be offered for interested Scouters at the same time and location listed above on November 18 th. GRATITUDE After many years of service to our Scouts through her work with the CYO office, Mrs. Barbara Reid has relinquished her duties of fulfilling orders for Scouting books, awards, applications and patches. Mrs. Michelle Meteleski in the Poughkeepsie office of Catholic Charities has assumed these responsibilities. All of us wish to express our appreciation to Mrs. Reid for all of the hard work, patience and dedication she has showed to our Scouts over the years. We will miss the calm and pleasant manner with which she answered all of our questions. Thank you, Barbara! May I never tire of the joy of helping other people or Look the Other way when someone is in need. You have given me the gift of a body, Make me wise enough to keep it healthy, That I might serve better. You are the source of all wisdom, Help me to have an alert mind, Teach me to think, And help me to learn discipline. In all that I do and in every challenge I face, Help me to know the difference between right and wrong, And lead me in obedience on a straight path to a worthy goal. Amen.
