PREFACE The aim of this course is to demonstrate and discuss the different approaches and surgical techniques for the multidisciplinary treatment of several cerebral-vascular pathologies. The opening of the Course will be held on June 10 th, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. On this same date, at 6:00 pm, a welcome cocktail will be held at the Hospital de Transplantes do Estado de São Paulo (HTEJZ). The scientific and surgical activities will begin on June 11 th at 8:00 am, with lectures and live surgical procedures at HTEJZ. During the course will be performed daily, in addition to theoretical classes, microsurgical and endovascular procedures for the treatment of cerebral aneurysms, AVMs, AVFs and cavernomas. During this week of didactic and practical activities, participants will have the opportunity to discuss in detail different techniques for the treatment of the most varied cerebral-vascular pathologies, as well as the opportunity to bring their own cases for discussion with the masters. Accomplishment of the course: Aesculap Academy & Hospital de Transplantes do Estado de São Paulo (HTEJZ). The HTEJZ is a public hospital (exclusive service by the SUS Brazilian Public Health System) of reference in the treatment of brain-vascular pathologies diseases such as aneurysms and artery-venous malformations. The hospital counts on with a multi-professional team that performs microsurgical and endovascular procedures. With an excellent infrastructure, comprising 153 beds, nine operating rooms, one hemodynamic room and three Intensive Care Units - intermediate, adult and pediatric. About 900 employees work in the institution, among health professionals and the administrative area. The Neurosurgery Vascular Service of the HTEJZ carries out, per month, about 200 outpatient visits, 40 cerebral diagnostic angiographies and 10 therapeutic procedures, resulting in approximately 100 surgeries /year for cerebral aneurysms.
