Your assistance in support of this kind donation to our students is requested as follows: 1. Publicize the Bursary to appropriate students in your school and make available copies of the ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION and APPLICATION FORM. 2. Collect Application Forms from eligible students by the deadline of April 24, 2015. 3. Select one (1) student's Application Form to submit to the Bursary Selection Committee on behalf of your school. Complete, as thoroughly as possible, the Principal's section of the Application Form. 4. Jan Courtin Superintendent of Education Bramalea/Chinguacousy/North Park Family of Schools Franca Palmieri Assistant to Superintendent of Education KIWANIS CLUB OF BRAMPTON BURSARY FOR GRADUATING SECONDARY STUDENTS ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION The Kiwanis Club of Brampton has established a Bursary to be awarded annually to two (2) graduating students who have been in attendance at a Peel District School Board secondary school located in the City of Brampton or the Town of Caledon. The value of the Bursaries are $1250.00 each per year, renewable for up to four years. The recipients of this Bursary will be graduating students who have achieved high academic standing and have demonstrated a keen involvement in extra-curricular activities, as well as making a strong contribution to the wider community of Brampton or Caledon. The students selected are planning to pursue post-secondary studies at a recognized Canadian college or university in September 2015 and for whom attendance at this college or university is challenged by limited financial resources. Students who meet the selection criteria, along with their parents or guardians, are requested to complete the Bursary Application Form and submit to the Principal by the submission date of April 24, 2015. Please note that, under no circumstances, will the application deadlines be extended. Applicants may be requested to attend a personal interview with the Bursary Selection Committee. The recipient of the Bursary will be informed before the end of June, 2015. The decision of the Committee is final. Criteria for Selection 1. Demonstration that the Bursary will assist limited financial resources for the student to attend a recognized college or university in Canada; 2. High academic achievement; 3. Involvement in extra-curricular activities; 4. Contribution to the Brampton or Caledon community; 5. Graduation in June 2015 from a Brampton or Caledon secondary school (Peel District School Board) and having been in a Brampton or Caledon secondary school for a minimum of three (3) consecutive years. 6. Attendance at a recognized college or university in Canada in September 2015. Use of Bursary Reimbursement of tuition fees or other approved expenses to a maximum of $1250.00 annually for up to four consecutive years (upon submission of receipts).
