Contractors and NAF employees: Tuition fee/cost for Army Logistics University courses. Instead you should take the free equivalent courses noted above. Initial training in hazardous materials (HM) and hazardous waste (HW) for: 1) Managing a Hazardous Waste Accumulation Point (WAP); or 2) Military personnel whose job requires training to obtain a secondary MOS 8056. Also appropriate for installation staff responsible for hazardous compliance, Industrial Hygienist, safety personnel, or quality assurance personnel responsible for inspecting HM/HW facilities. COURSE DESCRIPTION: Covers: DoD Environmental Policy; hazardous terminology; Pollution Prevention; identification and classification of HM and HW; health effects and personal safety; packaging, labeling, handling, storage, and transportation procedures; contingency planning and release response; and HM and HW laws, regulations, and policies. Provides fundamental information to handle HW as required by the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) regulations (40 CFR 260-265), by appropriate state and local requirements, and DOD policy. Course fulfills the general training requirements initially required for HW handlers by RCRA regulations (40 CFR 264.16 and 265.16), the Hazardous Communications Program (29 CFR 1910.1200), and the Department of Transportation (DOT) Hazardous Material Training (49 CFR 172.704). The Interservice Environmental Education Review Board designated this as a Joint Service course to train all DOD personnel in HW compliance. Waste Handlers are subject to fine or imprisonment as the result of violating local, state, federal, or international law. Course satisfies the USMC requirement to obtain the special identifier MOS 8056 HM/HW. Certification is valid for 1 year. Course Description: This 24 hour course provides information needed by personnel who generate hazardous waste to perform their duties safely and in compliance with legal and Navy policy standards. The RCRA regulation 40 CFR 262 establishes standards for HW generators. This course meets the initial training requirements of 'The Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP)'COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2B change 1 section 10.19.3.3 and 10.19.3.4. Generators who accumulate waste for less than 90 days must prepare and implement a training program which complies with the standards in 40 CFR 265.16 which mandates that personnel must be trained to perform their duties in a way that ensures compliance. HMTA 49 CFR 172.704(a)(1) and 172.704(a)(3) require training in hazardous material recognition and identification; and safety for each HAZMAT employee. HAZWOPER regulations, 29 CFR 1910.120(q)(6)(i) requires personnel who are likely to witness a release of hazardous substances to be trained to an awareness level. Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA) regulation 40 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 264.16(c) and 265.16(c) requires annual review of initial hazardous waste training. Per 40 CFR 262.34(a)(4), generators of HW who accumulate waste for less than 90 days must prepare and implement a training program which complies with the standards in 40 CFR 265.16 which mandates personnel training. This course complies with Marine Corps Order (MCO) P5090.5201, MCO 1200, and COMNAVAIRINST 4790 local installation training requirement for Environmental General Awareness and Job-Specific Training. It ensures personnel who are assigned job responsibilities or job functions with a significant impact on the environment receive appropriate environmental training. COURSE DESCRIPTION: This 6-hour (0800-1400) refresher provides a review of local Hazardous Waste Accumulation Point (WAP) procedures, Environmental Management System (EMS) Compliance Assessments, HW Training Requirements, Spill Prevention procedures, and First Responder Awareness level emergency spill response. Updates personnel on new compliance issues Environmental Inspectors have identified in the past year and provides a question/answer opportunity for Unit Environmental Compliance Coordinators, Command Level Coordinator, and Shop Level Coordinators to resolve their WAP concerns. TITLE: MCBH Unit Environmental Compliance Coordinator (ECC) Meetings LOCATION / TIME: MCBH Kaneohe Bay, Building 1359 / 0800-0900 2018 MEETING SCHEDULE DATE Number of Hours February 14 1 April 18 1 June 20 1 August 15 1 October 17 1 December 12 1 MEETING COORDINATOR: MCBH Environmental Training Coordinator email: Michele.chang@usmc.mil or (808) 257-9974. Target Audience: Mandatory participation for designated Unit Environmental Compliance Coordinators (ECC). ECCs shall be rank of E-5 or above or personnel with sufficient authority to implement environmental requirements at their command level (MCO P5090.2A CH-3 para 1305.4, 2205, 5303.3) PURPOSE: This 1-hour meeting (0800-0900) provides an opportunity for Unit ECCs and Base Environmental Program Managers to report and resolve environmental concerns aboard MCBH properties. Environmental topics will cover all media areas such as, but not limited to: air and water quality, used oil, solid waste and recycling, natural and cultural resources, spill response, storm water runoff, pollution prevention, etc. This complies with Marine Corps Order P5090.1305, 2205, and 5303. Meetings will be held every other month or on an as-needed basis. 2-7

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Held on the first Thursday of every month (0730-1130). Marine & Family Programs host this overview of the programs and services available to all newly-arrived military personnel married and single to Marine Corps Base Hawaii. Presentations and Information Stations are provided by the MCBH Community and MCCS Marine & Family Services. Base Environmental presents a short brief and 30-minute Information Station on the unique natural and cultural resources here and volunteer opportunity on MCBH. This event complies with Marine Corps Order P5090.5201 Environmental General Awareness Component which ensures that persons within the installation are informed of their environmental requirements and have access to information about, and the opportunity to support, the installation s environmental policies and programs. 2-8
