CALL FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS The SciTS Program Committee welcomes your abstract submissions for oral papers, panel presentations, and scientific posters. The submission period is from November 20, 2017 to the extended deadline of April 1, 2018. All abstract submissions should use the Abstract Template format and be submitted as a PDF via our Abstract Submission Form. KEY DATES: Abstract proposals due: March 20, 2018 at 11:59pm EST (Eastern Standard Time). DEADLINE EXTENDED: APRIL 1, 2018 at 11:59pm EST! Proposal notifications: April 20, 2018 PRESENTATION REQUIREMENTS: Presenting authors are responsible for registration, travel, and hotel costs. Abstracts will be compiled and made available to participants. Any presenter who is unable to attend should arrange for another qualified individual to present the paper/poster in question. If such a change is necessary, please notify our conference team. SciTS TOPICS: Presentations may focus on any topic related to the Science of Team Science. AWARDS: New this year - Outstanding Paper Award To be eligible for this award, you must submit a complete paper (not an abstract). The winner of the Outstanding Paper Award will have their paper considered for publication in the Journal of Applied Behavioral Science. For publication consideration in JABS: The paper must have a team science focus. The paper can be a case study, a theoretical model, or a qualitative or empirical study. The paper must emphasize planned, unplanned, or evolutionary change involving team science impacting groups, organizations, or system-level dynamics. All abstracts submitted through the general submission process will be considered for the InSciTS Meritorious Contribution Award. Poster and oral presentation abstracts will be nominated by the SciTS Abstract Reviewers and judged by the SciTS Awards Committee based on originality and significance. SUBMISSION OPTIONS: Individual Presentation Paper Presentations Paper presentations provide authors the opportunity to present original work related to conference topics. Oral paper presentations will have 15-minute time slots and be clustered by theme into sessions. Each session will include three individual presentations and time for questions from the audience. Extended abstract: Submissions should utilize the Abstract Template. Papers submitted in this category may represent original empirical research, theoretical development, reviews, or critiques. Complete paper: Submissions should submit a 50-word abstract AND a complete paper up to 35 pages long (references, tables and figures are not included in the page limit). Submissions to this category will be considered for the Outstanding Paper Award and for publication in the Journal of Applied Behavioral Science. Lightning Round Presentations Lightning round presentations provide authors the opportunity to share their work in brief oral presentations. Each presentation is limited to 10 minutes, followed by a five-minute question-and-answer period. The Program Committee will thematically group submissions for the lightning round session. Poster Presentations Our 90-minute poster session provides an interactive forum for authors to discuss their work. Submissions may represent original empirical research, theoretical development, or reviews. Poster submissions should use the Abstract Template format and should note that the word limit for posters are 500 words. All individual submissions will be considered for poster presentation if not accepted for their original submission type.
Panel Presentation Panel presentations provide authors the option to organize a panel comprising three related presentations. Panel presentation sessions will be 90 minutes long, with 45 minutes for the presentation and 45 minutes for discussion. A panel proposal should use the Abstract Template format and must include an abstract summarizing the overall theme of the panel, as well as individual abstracts for each presentation included in the panel. Panel presentations that bring together experts for interactive discussion should describe questions that will addressed by the panel, list any underlying issues to be discussed, and include bios for each of the panelists. ADDITIONAL SUBMISSION NOTES: The selection committee reserves the right to propose alternative presentation formats as the scope of the final programs requires.
