Request for Proposals: Mentoring Program Grants The GCSF Grants Program benefits students, teachers and schools within the Greenfield Central Community School Corporation. The GCSF mission is: Connecting Our Community to the Classroom Thanks to a special funding opportunity, GCSF is requesting proposals for school-based mentoring programs within the Greenfield-Central Corporation that will benefit those students with the greatest need. Qualifying programs should meet each of the following guidelines: 1. Assists students in receiving support and guidance from a mentor 2. Improves the academic performance of such students 3. Improves the interpersonal relationships between such students and their peers, teachers, family members, and/or other adults 4. Reduces the dropout rates of such students 5. Reduces discipline referrals for such students Programs may also be evaluated on the number of students impacted by the program and/or the potential for life-changing impact as well as the potential for the program to be replicated and/or expanded within the district. Applications are due by 4PM Friday May 1, 2015 for the 2014-15 school year. It is recommended that grant requests be in the funding range of $300 to $700; however, GCSF will evaluate the merit of each request as submitted. All applications must be complete, including a budget and supporting documentation of costs. Incentives, including prizes and food, can only be 10% or less of the total grant request. Grants cannot reimburse for costs previously incurred. Applications must be submitted online via the GCSF website, www.gcschoolfoundation.org. Persons receiving Mentoring Grants will be expected to mention the Greenfield Central School Foundation in all publicity concerning their grant and be willing to make a presentation about their program as requested. Grant Final Reports must be completed and forwarded to the GCSF Executive Director at the conclusion of the school year in order to qualify for future GCSF grants. Mentoring Grants will be selected and announced in June 2015 with payment to schools in August 2015.

If awarded a Mentoring Grant, we agree to the following: 1.) To maintain full financial records as related to the project granted, including keeping any and all receipts for expenditures as it relates to the project. All receipts from grant funds must be submitted with the final grant report. 2.) To return any unused funds from the grant to the Foundation upon completion of the project. Note: It is assumed that grant funds be used as outlined in the grant application. If the scope of the project changes or additional funding becomes available, the teacher must request approval to use grant dollars toward other expenses prior to expending those funds. Requests will be decided on a case-by-case basis. 3.) To mention the E 2 Grant in any and all publicity or promotional materials for the project. 4.) To track any metrics for this project as outlined in the attainable goals section of the application and submit those metrics to the Foundation as requested. 5.) To send representatives for the project and/or make a brief presentation about your project at GCSF events as requested. 6.) To submit a Grant Report to the Foundation upon completion of the project or by the end of the school year.
