2012 SCHOLARSHIP PROCESS 1. The deadline for returning the completed application, required documentation, transcript and essays* (when applicable) is Sunday, April 22, 2012. 2. Read the criteria for each scholarship carefully. 3. We must receive a copy of your transcript which must provide your name, school name, college level, GPA and Spring 2012 grades. This can be printed from the website or have an official transcript mailed directly to the church. Reminder: put on the envelope (see the front of this packet for the church address). 4. Church membership is a requirement Scholarships are for Enon members only. Student/applicant must be a member of ETBC for minimum of one (1) year as of September 1, 2012 (membership marked as the date of your baptism/right-hand of fellowship at Enon). You must provide your Enon Envelope Number on the application forms. NOTE: Some scholarships require a longer period of membership. 5. All scholarship applicants must provide a student resume along with the application and other required data as stated in each scholarship s criteria. Resume should include, with dates of involvement: A. University/College with Major and G.P.A. B. Enon youth ministries during your high school years, if applicable C. Extra-curricular college/school activities D. Community Service during your college years provide written verification, if possible, on agency letterhead E. Employment F. Awards & honors 6. All essays* must be typed. Each page of the essay must include your name, church envelope number and the name of scholarship for which the essay is being submitted at the top of each page. *NOTE: If the criteria, for a scholarship requires an essay only those applicants that submit the essay will be considered for that award. 7. Please provide a wallet/passport size head-shot photo along with your application. This photo will not be returned. Be sure to place your name and Enon membership number on the back of the photo. 8. All students are encouraged to apply. This packet contains information for scholarships available at time of printing. However, it is possible for additional scholarships to become available before the selection period. Fulfilling the criteria for all scholarships greatly increases your chances of receiving a scholarship.

9. In lieu of the Graduate Recognition Program, all scholarship candidates will receive an award notification letter in June, be presented to the congregation on Sunday, June 24 th at 10am Worship Service and celebrated at the Scholarship Awards program on Sunday, July 15 th. 10. BERT LANCASTER SCHOLARSHIP (Sponsored by the Lancaster and Tyler Families) This new $1,000 non-renewal scholarship is in memory of Captain Bert Lancaster who was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. Bert Lancaster was very active in track and field and, with friends, created the Philadelphia Pioneer Track Club. This scholarship is available to a male undergraduate who is a full-time student at an accredited institution and engaged in sports. This scholarship will be awarded to a male student who is participating in sports. PSALM 150 DEACON IRVING R. SMITH SCHOLARSHIP (Sponsored by the of Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church) This $1000 non-renewable scholarship is in memory of the late Deacon Irving R. Smith, who was a long-time member of Enon and the Enon scholarship ministry, who served as the ministry s chaplain and was instrumental in the formation of the Enon Scholarship s investments with the Raymond James Financial Services group. Deacon Smith had a love for God, family, church, youth and music. This scholarship will be awarded to a student who demonstrates an interest in music either as an extra-curricular activity, instructional student or as a major course study. Music interest/instruction/participation can be instrumental and/or vocal.
