4 NEW VENTURE CREATION 5 Entrepreneurship, can it be taught? Testimonials Entrepreneurship at Cass 1 st 7 th in London globally Financial Times Top MBAs for entrepreneurship 2017 ranking YES Just as we educate people to become doctors, engineers and lawyers, we can train people to become entrepreneurs. While successful entrepreneurs are renowned for trusting their instincts and learning from their mistakes, many startups fail in the first couple of years, often due to errors that are predictable and avoidable. To propel new venture success, the New Venture Creation course offers a mix of theory and experiential learning to save aspiring entrepreneurs time and money and increase their success rates. INSPIRATIONAL TEACHING & EXPERTS IN THEIR FIELDS: Starting a company is not just about rolling up your sleeves and diving in head first. In charge of delivering this course, Costas and Aurore know first-hand that whilst entrepreneurs do not need to be experts in all business fields, they must have strong fundamentals to run sound startups. A globally recognised expert on creativity and innovation management, strategy and entrepreneurship, Costas is an award winning scholar and coach, a sought after speaker and a consultant (MD of Apopsis Consulting) to senior teams around the world. He has delivered executive education sessions and advised managers from startups to large organisations in a variety of sectors since 2000. Before heading the Entrepreneurship Programmes at Cass and whilst reading Law, Aurore got the idea for Taskhub, a tech startup she co-founded and ran with her partner. With no tech or business background, Aurore applied for and was selected to join tech accelerator Wayra for a nine-month incubation, allowing her to grow her team, launch Taskhub, raise further investments and sign a partnership deal with a large telecommunications company. Although learning from the ground up was a great experience, Aurore feels she could have avoided a few mistakes if she had attended the New Venture Creation course. For someone coming from Tech, this course was great as it was perfectly designed to help me create my business plan within four days. The amount of time the professor spent giving one-to-one feedback was brilliant and I also really enjoyed interacting with the rest of the class. The guest speakers were one of the best aspects: they gave me so much clarity and vision as to what I should be doing. Zayd Shaikh, Senior Android Developer, New Venture Creation 2017 I found the course incredibly applicable and relevant. Every evening I went home full of new ideas. There were also aspects of corporate entrepreneurship, which I think were interesting when I consider my daytime job! Catherine Darlington, Senior Transition Manager at Legal and General, New Venture Creation 2017
