MEDIA INFLUENCES IMPRESSIONS 39% Hiring Managers less favorable toward hiring military personnel due to war-related issues or perceptions Apollo Research Institute 2012 PTSD/TBI/Suicide a leading headline grabber

MEDIA: ALL VETERANS ARE BROKEN MYTH: All Veterans suffer from some sort of disorder or PTSD. BASIC FACTS: Going through trauma is not rare about 60% of ALL men and 50% of ALL women experience at least one traumatic event. About 5.2 million ALL adults have PTSD during a given year hint: more civilians than Service members have PTSD. Experts think about 11 20% of OEF/OIF Veterans may have PTSD (11 20 out of 100). Only 10% out of Gulf War. Going through trauma does not mean you ll develop PTSD. Source: http://www.ptsd.va.gov/public/pages/how-common-is-ptsd.asp

Your Veteran Pipeline Readiness Recruitment Retention Increased Revenue & Performance Metrics 12

BOTTOM LINE: VETERANS ARE AN ASSET

TOP TEN REASONS COMPANIES HIRE VETERANS 10: Battle-Tested Real World Experience: combat or not, they have done everything from coordinating ground support, hiring local contractors, etc 9: Trainability: training is a crucial component of all services from the first day of enlistment 8: Adaptability: military personnel continually adapt to changing environments and new responsibilities 7: Military Produces Outstanding Leaders: The best leadership whether peacetime or war is borne as a conscientious obligation to serve. COL. Tom Kolditz, Dept. Behavioral Science 6: High Dependability: Military Veterans don t show up late for work, do what they say, and put their best effort to achieve a high standard of performance 5: Quality Job Performance under Pressure: studies show that veterans perform well and actually survive and thrive under pressure 4: Expand Your Job Pool: go beyond the Veteran and consider the Veterans families and caregivers for positions 3: Background Checks and Security Clearances: as reported by VETJOBS.com, over 90 percent of those in the military have had extensive background checks for various levels of security clearances. 2: Hire a Hero and Save Costs: savings on training and background screening costs, reduce your recruiting costs through partnerships; tax credits, deploying the Work Opportunity Tax Credit so it can off-set your recruiting and training costs.

THE NUMBER #1 REASON 1: It s Just the Right Thing to Do: Hiring Veterans, their families, and caregivers is simply the right thing to do. When you add up ALL the benefits: ROI, tax incentives, training, along with the fact that they VOLUNTEERED to serve to ensure our safety and freedom and their families kept the home and hearth intact it SIMPLY JUST MAKES SENSE they are the best candidate.
