Child: Jameson Emmanuel McCrady Parents: Mark & Linda (Sestric) McCrady Godparents: Greg Arthur & Kelly Walter Marriage Congratulations Congratulations to the following couple who were married at Most Holy Name of Jesus Church last weekend: Rebecca Bednar & Michael Vith Mass of Anointing at St. Anthony s Chapel The Sacrament of the Sick will be administered during a special Mass on Saturday, April 23rd at 1:00 pm at St. Anthony s Chapel. This administration of the sacrament of the sick in this context is offered for those Catholics who are experiencing physical ailments of a serious nature: those who will be undergoing surgery for serious reasons, the elderly who have become notably weakened even though no serious illness is present, those who are battling serious illnesses and have not been anointed recently, and children who have reached the age of reason and are seriously ill. Mass Intentions Honored The following Mass Intentions were said by Fr. Garvey in St. Anthony s Chapel in March: Jacqueline Kamats By Maxine Zokaites George & Clara Kamats Family By Maxine Zokaites Joseph Julius By Rose Lukascyk Personal Intentions By Diane, Marerita & Rose From the desk of Fr. Jim The last of the 56 ways to be merciful during Jubilee Year of Mercy are coming up, three this week and three next week. 1) Give away something of yours that you really like to someone you know would enjoy it. 2) Can you play the piano or other musical instrument? Can you sing well? Can you recite poetry? Give free concerts to the forgotten people in nursing homes and assisted living centers. 3) Go on Retreat. It s a way to be merciful to yourself and also to the people around you, who know you need to go on retreat. If you cannot do that, at least try to make a day or evening of recollection. Reflect a moment and see if your Holy Year is turning out any different than any other year. If it is, Praise God. If not there s still time to let the year be one that makes a difference for you. Thanks to those who very kindly donated toward the new Red Cope. It is now paid for. May God reward you for your generosity. Please sign up for time before the Blessed Sacrament on our Eucharistic Day, Sunday, April 17th. Sign up sheets are in all three of the vestibules of the Church. May our Risen Lord hold you close to his Sacred Heart. Pax, Fr. Jim St. Anthony Chapel & The Year of Mercy Saint Anthony Chapel is one of two places in the Diocese of Pittsburgh where one may gain the privilege of The Holy Year of Mercy Plenary Indulgence; the other is St. Paul Cathedral. A detailed pamphlet is available at the Chapel that outlines the conditions for gaining the Holy Year Indulgence. For more information, please visit www.saintanthonyschapel.org Reminder If the Mass Intention is for your family member, and you wish to take up the gifts, please tell one of the Ushers so they can adjust accordingly to accommodate you. Mass Attendance April 2 & 3 Saturday: 277 Sunday: 317 Total attendance at both churches: 594
