At 0500 hours, Saturday, January 2018, Eli Lilly conducted experimental treatment for a replacement anesthetic, Tetrahydrozobigianol (zombinol) to decrease safety risks previously encountered with standard anesthesia. 2. Tests conducted were not only failure, but catastrophic. WHO, CBRN, and the CDC have quarantined the Indianapolis metropolitan area due to the vicious onset of a patient s psyche, causing uncontrollable rage and appetite for human flesh. All residents of Marion, Hancock, and Hendricks county have been advised to seek shelter indoors, secure all external entrances to their homes, and avoid contact with other individuals at all cost. 3. As of late, all quarantine measures have failed. Contingent plan BSA BIOLOGICAL CONTINGENCY has been enacted, and all uniformed scouts with basic lifesaving, survival, and leadership training and skills are being enacted in correlation with ALL U.S UNIFORMED SERVICES. 4. At this time, all SATNAV/SATCOM (GPS) signals in the area have been deactivated in order to contain the spread of information to preserve the mainframe infrastructure of the United States. Landnav will be the only means of navigation through the operation zone. 2. Primary mission objective will be to restabilize the operation zone, via: A. Providing aid to stranded survivors through first aid, fortification of operation posts, and relief effort. B. Search and rescue C. Fortification and defense from infected D. Operation area: BSA Camp Ransburg E. Operation Timeline: 20-22 APRIL, 2018 3. Lethal force will be authorized; however executive discretion will be designated to authorized personnel.
4. In the success of this operation, maintaining a low profile will be paramount in the success of this operation. CAMPING Campsite selection is on a first come first serve basis. Troops may arrive any time after 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Troops may reserve their campsite if they register ahead of time!! If you are a late arrival, please respect the other troops who have already setup by keeping noise to a minimum. SATURDAY NIGHT CAMPFIRE Youth Firecrafters from Pioneer District will be responsible for building and running the campfire. Your skits/songs are due by lunch on Saturday. Bring your best apocalypse/zombie skits. Please turn these in to our Camp Director. If so desired, you may email your skit and or song prior to arrival!! Remember, your skit/song must be related to the theme of the Camporee. AWARDS 1: Zombie Termination Using your archery skills as a Patrol, collectively score the highest points and take home your Zombie Termination Trophy! 1 st place will receive a Trophy, 2 nd and 3 rd place will receive certificates 2: Fortification After lunch on Saturday, you must regroup at your campsites and fortify your camps by building a gate, camp gadgets, and securing your entire camp site! Lashings and scouting knots will add to your safety! First place will receive a trophy, 2 nd and 3 rd place will receive certificates 3. Zombie Ghoul ash Dutch oven cooking competition. Can be anything that includes ground beef, pork, turkey, etc. 1 st place will receive a trophy, 2 nd and 3 rd place will receive certificates. 1 st Place - Song and Skit (Apocalypse/Zombie theme) 1 st Place Spirit of Scouting
PROGRAM & COMPETITION It is highly recommended that scouts come prepared for battle in camo clothing & hiking boots. Camo face paint is recommended, but not required. Each scout will need to bring a day pack with essentials such as: pocket knife, para cord, drinking water, first aid kit, flashlight, compass, pen and paper, a scout handbook, method for fire starting, neckerchief (bandanna), and any other essentials that may be required, but not listed. Station 1: Stranded Motorist A motorist has a flat tire and has damaged his hand fighting off the zombies! While he did not get bit, his hand is too damaged to operate a jack and change a tire. Your mission is to assist the motorist by changing his tire. Once completed, the motorist will give you a lift out of camp. You ve got to hurry, ZOMBIES ARE LURKING!! Station 2: First Aid Required Several civilians have been injured in a car accident and needs first aid. As scouts, you must assess their injuries, treat them and stabilize them for transport out of the danger area. Station 3: Toxic Waste Hazard You must get through the obstacles to continue to help looking for victims! You must navigate through several obstacles, while NOT tipping off the lurking zombies to your position. Station 4: Zombie Termination You must use your archery skills to terminate the zombies lurking about! Scoring perfect hits terminates the zombies much faster than just plain body shots. Be swift but accurate! Station 5: Escape Room You find yourself locked in an abandoned first aid station where you will need to find clues to allow you to find the antidote! Station 6: Defensive Posture Zombies are driven away by fire. Help the stranded family by building a fire to keep the zombies away! Station 7: Rescue the Scoutmaster One of the scoutmasters for a local Troop is trapped! Tie the rescue knot (bowline) and toss him the rope to assist in his escape! Drag him to safety, treat his wounds, and using available resources, make a stretcher and carry him to the extraction point!
SKIT/SONG COMPETITION We will have a skit/song competition at the campfire again. Your Skit and Song must be related to the theme of this Camporee (Apocalypse/Zombies) in order to be considered for the Skit/Song award. Remember to keep your song/skit scout appropriate. SPIRIT OF SCOUTING AWARD This competition, introduced at the 2006 Spring Camporee, is intended to reward the troop that best exhibits the Spirit of Scouting throughout the weekend. The award is judged by the Scoutmasters. Only one award will be given. Criteria for the award include: Number of Scouts in full uniform (youth & adults) Use of Patrol method Patrol yells Troop and Patrol flags present Appropriate participation in events Evidence of the Scout Law & Promise in daily activities
MISCELLANEOUS A camporee evaluation form will be provided. The SPL and Scoutmaster are requested to fill the evaluation out and turn it in at the time of check-out. Patches will be handed out at check-out when the competed evaluation form is submitted and the troop s site clean-up is approved by the staff.
