Chairman Oberleiter called the Regular Meeting of the Monroe County Economic Development Corporation held at the Monroe Bank & Trust Headquarters at 10 Washington Street, Monroe, Michigan 48161 on Tuesday, to order at 8:03 a.m. II. Roll call by Clerk as follows: PRESENT: ABSENT: Tom Allen, Barry Buschmann, Kim Comerzan, Stacey Goans, Tim Lake, Scot Laskey (arrived at 9:03), Dan Minton, Tracy Oberleiter, John Patterson, and Mike Baker J. Henry Lievens, Gary Wilmoth and Randy Mielnik (all excused) A quorum being present, the Committee proceeded to conduct business. Jim Brunt, Chairman of the Bedford Advanced Cybersecurity Development Center was also in attendance. III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Motion by Tom Allen to approve agenda for Regular Meeting as presented, supported by Dan Minton. Voice vote taken. Motion carried. IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES (06/27/2017 Regular Meeting) Motion by Tim Lake to approve the minutes of the June 27, 2017 Regular Meeting as amended and waive the reading thereof, supported by John Patterson. Presentation by Jim Brunt, Chairman of the Bedford Advanced Cybersecurity Development Center Bedford Supervisor, Paul Pirrone wanted as part of his initiatives Area 58 MCCC and Bedford Schools Building a pathway into MCCC

Updated report-developer s Streamlining Guide-Barry Buschmann No summer meetings were held Focus on processes Getting out to townships is important Need to drill down on some items Always updating Streamlining Guide Possible meeting, end of October to focus on outreach and education Hoping to do another winter program like last year 3. Update report Entrepreneurship & Innovation Task Force- Scot Laskey Working with MCCC. They would like Entrepreneur program Committee will continue to support Gen E Monroe Public Schools going over well ProMedica can do more with Michigan companies than Ohio Partnering with medical tech companies ProMedica has experts and space Create environment for high tech Streamlining & Task Force invaluable with help because BDC can t do it by themselves. 4. Page 3 5. Monroe County Inc. MPACT Show Update-Tracy Oberleiter-June 28, 2017 Show #18 was produced and taped. Show guests included Ryan & Jay Philbeck, owners of Patriot Group Construction-- Bought west of First Street to the alley with exception of corner building. Possibly shared workspace opportunity. They do a lot of commercial roofing repair. John Patterson suggested a tour of Developments and Renovations with the entire group. Discussion commenced. Many residential spaces in downtown Monroe to look at as well as other building projects within the County. Tom Stewart bought old Sears building and remodeled it all except for the top floor. Book Nook renovation is really nice. Grand Re-Opening in October. Michael Bosanac, Administrator/Chief Financial Officer for Monroe County and Tim Lake, President Monroe County Business Development Corporation presented an update on the I-75 Corridor Study Project. 6. I-75 Corridor Study Project update-tim Lake Now called the Monroe County Link Plan. Moving into action plan phase 6 pillars of activity that needs to be expanded on and developed in the next 5-7 years Developing the framework Being investment ready Workforce talent development Quality of life tourism development I-75 logistics gateway how to market the sites Strategic alignment with partners Action steps completed by end of 2017; Begin work in 2018 7. Soy Bean Project update- Tim Lake Hired consultant 34 potential targets Would like to get in front of at least 3 people/companies Growing more and more beans in Region 8. 7-11-17--I-75 Corridor Study presentation to RGP Group-Tim Lake Did presentation in Toledo BGSU looking to do things in SE Michigan 9. 7-27-17 ProMedica Toledo Innovation Center tour-scot Laskey Technology based companies
