Section 1 ANNOUNCEMENT 2 ANNOUNCEMENT NUMBER 2019-998 OPEN PERIOD 15 May 13 Sep 2018 SEND APPLICATIONS TO: usaf.jbanafw.ngb-hr.mbx.hr-workflow@mail.mil NGB is now accepting CY19 applications for a variety of Officer Development Opportunities. Applicants will be screened for opportunities based on anticipated long-term return to the Air National Guard. Adjutants General, Commanders, and Command Chiefs play pivotal roles in the nomination process. Nominees should be Officers who clearly demonstrate the potential to serve in leadership positions. These positions would normally include, however, may not be limited to, positions at Numbered Air Forces, Major Commands, Joint, SECAF, OSD, DoD, COCOMs, and numerous educational opportunities, Active Duty for Operational Support (ADOS) tours, and other experiences throughout the ANG enterprise. *Applicants MUST review the information and course eligibility requirements in the Officer Development Portfolio located at http://www.ang.af.mil/careers/force-development/. NOTE: All development opportunities are subject to availability of funds. **DO NOT USE ANY OTHER APPLICATION PROCEDURES**

3 Section 2 REQUIREMENTS Applicants must adhere to any local policies, internal procedures, and suspenses. ***Do not include any other endorsements, letters of recommendations, or other extraneous material*** A. CY2019 Officer Development Opportunity Request Sheet: Complete and submit with other required documents. See Section 3. B. Applicant Summary Form: Fill in all required fields in the two-page file. See Section 4. C. Letter of Intent: Limit to one page, Times New Roman, 12 font. See Section 5. D. Wing CC/Director or Designated Rep Endorsement Letter: Limit to one page, Times New Roman, 12 Font. See Section 6. E. Resume (combined military and civilian): Limit to two pages. F. vmpf Record Review/Update (all pages): Must be no more than 60 days old at the time of submission. Data Verification Briefs (DVB) or RIPs generated directly from MilPDS will not be accepted. It is incumbent upon each applicant to ensure their personnel information is correct in vmpf, such as, civilian degrees. This is the only information that will be reviewed by the panel. G. AFFMS II Fitness Printout (with full history): Must reflect current, passing score as of the date of application. Selected candidates may be required to provide an updated fitness printout prior to course start date. H. Joint Officer History (JOH): Submit printed summary from the Joint Qualification System (JQS). Log in to https://jqs-pki.dmdc.osd.mil/appj/jqs (this is the self-nomination site, but has a link to access the JOH). Member must use CAC to log in; go to bottom of site and click on Eligibility Criteria, select continue. Officer can then update/change profile and just below their name/info is a link to view the JOH select that link and print history. Applicants should ensure this document correctly indicates their joint experience and education. Applicants must submit this document even if it does not display joint experience and education. I. OPRs (ADOS applicants only): Last 5 to include most current. Exception: Promotion Eligible Lt Cols must submit all OPRs. Promotion eligible means that all requirements to include Current Rank, Time in Grade, Time in Service, PME, etc. have been completed for advancement to the next higher grade. J. Sanctuary Waiver (ADOS applicants only): If TAFMS is 16 years or greater; you must submit a Statement of Understanding Waiver of AD Sanctuary. SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS 4 A. JFHQ will submit a TAG Stratification letter for all submissions from the state and is required even if only one applicant. This letter is NOT part of the applicant s package. JFHQ will send TAG stratification letters to USAF.JBANAFW.NGB-HR.MBX.HR-WORKFLOW@MAIL.MIL. NGB/HRT will obtain stratification for Stat tour applicants. See Section 7. B. JFHQ will electronically load packages individually via AMRDEC at https://safe.amrdec.army.mil/safe no later than 13 September 2018. C. All documents must have the complete Social Security Number (SSN) redacted. All applicant documents must be consolidated into a single PDF. Do NOT use the portfolio feature or add bookmarks to the PDF file. Submit documents in the order listed below. See Section D. - PDF Filename should be 2019-998-Last Name, First Initial, Middle Initial, Rank-State Abbreviation (Example: 2019-998-SmithJD, Col-MN) - AMRDEC naming structure for the file name and the file description should be 2019-998-Last Name, First Initial, Middle Initial, Rank-State Abbreviation (Example: 2019-998-SmithJD, Col-MN). - Email each individual Application Package Separate via AMRDEC to USAF.JBANAFW.NGB-HR.MBX.HR-WORKFLOW@MAIL.MIL D.
