WHO WE ARE Founded in 1976, the National Association of State Chief Administrators (NASCA), is a nonprofit, 501(c)3 association representing state chief administrators. NASCA s mission is to help state chief administrators and their teams strategically transform state government operations through the power of shared knowledge and thought leadership. WHAT WE DO The primary state government members are senior public officials in charge of departments that provide operational support to other state agencies. Common areas of oversight by NASCA s primary member can include general services (such as fleet, mail, printing and surplus), procurement, facilities, telecommunications, information technology, construction, risk management, accounting, budget, insurance, audits, human resources, professional development and more. NASCA encourages the participation by deputy directors and senior level staff that support the state chief administrators. GET INVOLVED To be involved in NASCA, private sector firms may join as corporate members and participate in the NASCA Corporate Council. NASCA provides a forum for side-by-side learning, idea exchange and sharing new ideas between state members and with corporate partners. NASCA s culture values corporate partners who will engage in rigorous discussion that supports our academic approach to content. We offer an inclusive environment to focus on developing mutually beneficial relationships between the public and private sector. Building relationships with other states has been beneficial to understand how to shape policies and manage projects. All content, agendas and speaker will be selected by the workgroups and approved by the Program Committee, and will focus on the issues identified by the state members. All corporate members can participate on any workgroup, regardless of sponsorship level. Publications and Partnered Research 2018 OPPORTUNITIES Presenting Partner - Webinars $5,000 Limited to four sponsorships Presenting partners can collaborate with the planning workgroups on webinar agendas by presenting as subject matter expert and/or contributing as a lead author on post-webinar materials. Alternatively, the presenting partners may instead choose to assist with facilitation, such as leading a panel discussion or moderating closing Q&A. All webinars are subject to the approval of the Program Committee leadership. Topics will be determined by the Program Committee, and be drawn from the areas of focus identified from the Top Priorities for 2018. Authorship includes a 700-1000 word thought leadership piece on a selected topic from NASCA s 2018 Top Policy and Administrative Priorities of State Chief Administrators. The publication will include a sidebar featuring the sponsoring corporate partner s profile. This opportunity is available on a first-come, first-serve basis and limited to one article per partner. Deadline to contribute is January 31. This publication will be mailed to all primary state members, distributed electronically and made available at the Spring Conference. It will remain in circulation until 2019.

2018 Institute on Management & Leadership September 12-14 2018 Omaha, Nebraska The Institute on Management and Leadership is a premier and engaging two-day executive education program led by the Leadership for a Networked World at Harvard University. This event invites private sector partners to sit alongside state chief administrators to discuss challenges for 2018 and develop new tools for success in state government. World-Class faculty from Harvard University and other leading universities present the latest thinking about issues relevant to state chief administrators. Participants discuss several real-world case studies about actual challenges facing a Chief Administrator in a high-stakes setting. The case studies act as a catalyst for discussion and provide a reference point that enables participants to apply the lessons from the executive development sessions to their own experiences. The conference theme will be determined by the Institute Planning committee, and will likely include elements of recruiting, retention, succession planning, workforce talent management,workforce training and gubernatorial transitions.
