April 20-21, 2013 Greetings from beautiful Durango, Colorado! We hope this letter finds you and your team doing well as you prepare for the summer months. As the summer vastly approaches, the 7 th annual Fort Lewis College Mid- America Youth Basketball Skyhawk Shoot- Out is finally here, and we would like to personally welcome you and thank you for choosing our tournament to attend this year. We are excited about the competition of this year s tournament and know that your players will gain valuable playing experience. We have included more detailed information about the Skyhawk Shoot- Out on the following pages. We ask that you do two things while here in Durango. The first is that you don t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. Our second is that you enjoy yourself. This should be an exciting weekend, and we want to do everything possible to assure you and your players have a great visit here at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. By car: Principal highways to Durango: Hwy 550 & Hwy 160 Driving Directions to Fort Lewis College Driving from the Denver area: From Hwy 285 South, turn right on Hwy 112 heading West to Del Norte. In Del Norte, turn right onto Hwy 160. Follow Hwy 160 West in to Durango. Hwy 160 becomes Hwy 160-550. When it splits, follow Hwy 550 to College Drive. Turn right onto College Drive then follow for 1.8 miles. Turn left onto Fort Lewis Drive. Follow signs to Office of Admission. Driving from the Grand Junction area: Hwy 50 South to Hwy 550 South to Durango. Hwy 550 becomes Main Avenue. Follow Main Avenue through downtown Durango to 8th Street. Turn left on 8th Street. When it dead- ends, turn left on 8th Avenue. Follow to top of the hill. At the traffic light, turn left and follow signs for the Office of Admission. Driving from Colorado Springs - Pueblo areas: I- 25 South to Hwy 160 West in to Durango. Hwy 160 becomes Hwy 160-550. When it splits, follow Hwy 550 to College Drive. Turn right onto College Drive then follow for 1.8 miles. Turn left onto Fort Lewis Drive. Follow signs for Office of Admission. Driving from Albuquerque, NM: Hwy 550 North to Durango. Follow 550 North to College Drive. Turn right onto College Drive, follow for 1.8 miles. Turn left onto Fort Lewis Drive. Follow signs for Office of Admission. Arriving by air: Daily flights arrive at and depart from the Durango- La Plata County Airport. Daily flights from the Denver and Phoenix area are available. Fort Lewis College is located about20 minutes from the airport. When exiting the airport, follow Hwy 172 to Hwy 160 West. Hwy 160 becomes Hwy 160-550. When it splits, follow Hwy 550 to College Drive. Turn right onto College Drive then follow for 1.8 miles. Turn left onto Fort Lewis Drive.

Whalen Gymnasium 1000 Rim Drive Durango, CO 81301 Fan Information Spring tournaments have a 3 game minimum, but all teams in this tournament will play a 4 game minimum. We will attempt to schedule all games within a few hours of each other to avoid long layoffs, but this is not always possible. Admission Fees: Adults $6 daily/ $10 weekend pass (both are good at all gyms) Students (18 and under) $4 daily/$7 weekend pass Children under 5 are admitted FREE! All teams will get a total of TWO (2) passes, which can be used for coaches, managers, scorekeepers, etc. Admission fees will be charged for any additional team personnel. Concessions: Concessions will be provided and a full service concession stand with food, drinks, and t-shirts, will be located in the Whalen Gymnasium lobby. No outside food or drinks will be allowed inside any of the facilities (except for water). Scorekeeping: Sit back and relax because your Fort Lewis College Women s Basketball team has this covered for you! Please just provide the scorers table with the correct names and jersey numbers. Tournament Rules: Complete tournaments rules will be provided on all scorers tables and at the admission table. Below are a few rules to keep in mind: Games will be two (2) 20 minute halves. It is a running clock, except for the last two minutes of BOTH halves. Clock will not stop if there is a 15 point or greater lead at any point after halftime. Coaches get four (4) timeouts per game (all 30 seconds), which can be used at any time If tiebreakers cannot be decided from head-to-head competition, they will be decided by total points allowed among the teams engaged in the tie-break process only. Colorado High School rules apply. Coaches and/or players ejected from contests will miss, at a minimum, the next game and possibly more at the director s discretion.

Other Important Information CHECK- IN REQUIREMENTS: Check- In must be done by 2pm on Saturday. At the time of check- in, all coaches must turn in a copy of both a GRADE REPORT CARD and BIRTH CERTIFICATE for each player on the team. o Those who fail to provide these documents will not be able to participate. JERSEY COLOR: Bring reversible jerseys if possible First number on game schedule will wear HOME COLOR: white or lighter color Second number will wear AWAY COLOR: Black or darker color PATIENCE & COOPERATION: Coaches, please exit the court immediately when your game is over. We are on a very tight schedule with many teams participating. Please meet with your team after the game outside or in the hallway so we can quickly get the next game started.
