Statements & Search Criteria Mission Voices of Naples is a not-for-profit educational organization functioning within the State of Florida. The group consists of a paid musical director, board of directors (volunteer), and singers. All are dedicated to the following mission: To present a gift of quality choral music to the community that is uplifting to the audience and the choral ensemble. To provide an opportunity for singers to learn choral techniques and to study various types of choral literature. To provide scholarship. Background We began as a small group of singers to express our love for vocal music. It quickly evolved into the 70+ singers we have today. We have hired an Artistic Director, a professional piano accompanist, and present 5-6 concerts per year. We raise money to provide scholarships for deserving high school seniors who desire to study vocal music in college. To date, we have awarded over $30,000 in scholarships. Impact Goals What are your organization's long-term strategic goals? We want to perform to the best of our ability, such that our audiences will receive music that they might not otherwise hear. We try to raise money for scholarships to deserving high school seniors who intend to study vocal music in college. In order to accomplish this, we need to raise money for our day-to-day expenses so that the income from our performances can go directly to these scholarship recipients. Strategies What are the major strategies you will do to accomplish your goals? We currently sell tickets for our two large concerts, and collect donations for the others. We have received contributions, mostly memorials, to implement our income. We are seeking grants to help pay for expenses we incur during the year. Capabilities What are your organization s capabilities for doing this? Our organization consists of 70+ talented singers who are devoted to music and desire to perform to the best of our ability. We have a world-class artistic director who shares his knowledge and techniques with us. We audition high school seniors with discriminating ears to encourage and guide these young people in their quest for musical careers. With our expertise, we are able to do this and award the scholarships to which we have already alluded. Indicators What indicators do you use to measure progress? We need to pay our expenses before we can allocate funds to these young people. We can gauge our progress by determining how much money we can raise to provide for scholarships. Progress What have and haven t you accomplished so far? To date, we have donated over $30,000 in the 12 years we have been in existence. There have been many students we have been unable to fund due to our heavy expenses. We hope to cut down our costs by receiving grants to cover our duplicating fees, sound equipment and a portable keyboard. 3
