London, UK The Conference The European Mineral Fertilizer Summit embodies the significant role of the EU as a major contributor to global food security, in efforts to reach the goal of combating hunger, and to remain competitive in the global market. The speed of change has never been greater, demanding European agriculture to pick up the pace ahead of the carbon emissions race. As the most exposed sector to carbon leakage under ETS defined by the European Commission, the industry needs to address the sustainability of the sector to remain profitable if it is to compete with producers from other parts of the globe. Many societies today are imposing higher demands on agricultural production not merely the food-supply, the sector is also expected to contribute to economic success, support the social wellbeing of rural areas and help preserve natural resources. Alongside the ongoing need to protect and reestablish the quality of existing farmland. Agricultural practice relies on solutions and strategies to optimise crop yields, and reduce environmental impact while maintaining nutritional quality. Discussions will look into helping agriculture overcome these difficulties, homing in on the future of agriculture and food security in Europe, looking at successful practices, while addressing the challenges. This conference will inform and inspire those engaged in this pursuit.
