Overview The expo was designed to provide ongoing educational opportunities for clinical staff at one time and in one place. It will provide staff with professional development courses and includes both mandatory and elective educational sessions to help honor staff time commitments. We hope to provide staff with the right tools to be the best in their current role. Registration There is no longer a need to register for a specific time and/or day in Healthstream, unless otherwise specified for a class. Please walk in and check-in at the welcome desk. You will receive an education packet explaining your requirements at the Expo. Participants should refer to the brochure and daily class schedule* to plan their day. These will both be sent out ahead of the first Expo start date and available on the external website under Careers Clinical Education. Note: If you are participating in unit competencies, your education day may last longer than four hours. Please refer to the daily schedule for specific class times, location and capacity. Space may be limited for popular class times. Note: class size is limited and late entrance may not be allowed due to full capacity and/or instructor has already begun teaching material. Featured Education Mandatory Education These classes are provided to help meet the following requirements: Education set forth by regulatory agencies and for immediate compliance to hospital policies and procedures House wide- ongoing and annual competency requirements for clinical staff Unit-specific education and mandatory department competencies Elective Education: These classes provide opportunities for staff to receive general education pertinent to their role. They are optional to participate in and fit into one of the following categories: New Equipment Policy Updates or Process Changes Technology Medication Professional Development Wellness

Concurrent Sessions- March BLOOD ADMINISTRATION-2017 Annual Competency This educational offering is designed specifically for RN s who administer and/or monitor the transfusion of blood products. Participants will review the blood administration policy, know how to respond to blood transfusion reactions and how to complete timely assessments. There are two different options to complete this education: Option 1: Test out option Module is automatically assigned in Healthstream to all mandatory participants. Take time to study the CRMC Transfusion of Blood Products CLIN-PC-48 Policy beforehand. Must be taken prior to the Expo live class. Available in Healthstream: February 15, 2017 Participants will have 1 attempt to complete the Healthstream test with a 90% or better. If passed, you have met the requirement for 2017 and will not be required to attend the live course; however, you are still welcome to attend the live class if you would like. If your attempt is unsuccessful, you will be required to attend the live class at the Expo. Option 2: Live class option Open to all, but highly encouraged for Nurse Residents and RN s who prefer in-person instruction. To prepare for this class, please take some time to become familiar with the CRMC Transfusion of Blood Products CLIN-PC-48 Policy before class as you will be expected to demonstrate competence related to blood administration and the ability to identify certain blood transfusion reactions. Healthstream assignment will be removed from account after the successful completion of the class. Mandatory For: All RNs who administer and/or monitor the transfusion of blood products Category: Annual Compliance Session Time: 50 minutes CENTRAL VENOUS ACCESS DEVICES (CVAD) This class will teach participants about various central venous access devices including: concepts, dressing change, blood draw, flushing, and troubleshooting. There will be discussion, as well as demonstration and return demonstration of skills. Mandatory For: RNs & LPNs working in Home Health, ARU, TCU and Hospice Category: Equipment Session Time: 50 minutes CHEST TUBES This class will provide a hands on overview of various chest tube systems. Participants will be able to ask questions about set-up, insertion, maintenance, and troubleshooting. This course is highly encouraged, especially if participants do not encounter chest drainage systems often. Highly Recommended For: RNs & LPNs Category: Equipment Session Time: 50 minutes

Concurrent Sessions- March continued CRITICAL CARE BRIDGING- DRIPS Critical Care Bridging is for new specialty, ICU or ED nurses, nurses who are cross training to ICU/ED, or nurses in other areas who use critical care drips. This class will help increase knowledge of critical care drips, how to safely use these drips, and identify monitoring and nursing interventions related to specific critical care drips. *This course must be registered for separately in Healthstream* Target Audience: Nurses from ICU, ED, or other areas who use critical care drips Category: Medication Session Time: 4 hours (offered only one time at Expo: 3/14/17 from 0800-1200) CC team members will demonstrate how to use the new dressing change kit. The purpose of the kit is *NEW* DRESSING CHANGE KIT to reduce CLABSI (Central Line Associated Blood Stream Infections) rates and to streamline consistency in dressing changes by all of nursing. Mandatory For: All Nurses who are responsible for PICC/CVAD dressing changes Category: Equipment Session Time: 10 minutes- Drop in anytime EPIDURAL ANALGESIA-2017 Annual Competency This class is designed to provide nurses with the tools, confidence and knowledge to successfully care for patients, according to WY State Board of Nursing standards, who receive Epidural Analgesia. In class discussions will include: differences between catheters, benefits of epidural analgesia, contraindications, complications, and patient management. Option 1: Test out option Module is automatically assigned in Healthstream to all mandatory participants. Must be taken prior to the Expo live class. Available in Healthstream: February 15, 2017 Participants will have 1 attempt to complete the Healthstream test with a 90% or better. If passed, you have met the requirement for 2017 and will not be required to attend the live course; however, you are still welcome to attend the live class if you would like. If your attempt is unsuccessful, you will be required to attend the live class at the Expo. Students that Pass the written quiz must also complete a competency check sheet. This check sheet must be uploaded to your healthstream account. Once your check sheet is uploaded to your account, an educator will remove the assignment from your account. Option 2: Live class option Open to all, but highly encouraged for Nurse Residents and RN s who prefer in-person instruction. Must attend both the epidural course and attend the pump training. Mandatory For: All Nurses who manage Epidural Analgesia Category: Annual Compliance, Medication Session Time: 1.5 hour class + 30 minute pump training

Concurrent Sessions- March continued EVERYTHING NEURO: Spinal Trauma & Other Spinal Topics This course is part of a series that is designed to provide nurses with the tools, confidence, and knowledge to successfully care for a neuro patient with spinal cord issues. Dr. Beer will be instructing the course. 3.0 hours of CE credit will be awarded for participation in this class. *This course must be registered for separately in Healthstream* Highly Recommended For: All Nurses from Neuro (4-2), ICU, and ED Target Audience: All nurses Category: Professional Development Session Length: 3 hours (offered only one time at Expo: 3/15/17 from 0800-1130) If applicable to your role, these modules have been assigned to your Healthstream account and must be completed by the last day of the March (March 17, 2017) or assigned due date: HEALTHSTREAM MODULES TO COMPLETE Safe Disposal of Medications Mandatory for: All Nurses, Pharmacy CAUTI (Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infection) Mandatory for: All Nurses & CNAs Antimicrobial Stewardship practices Mandatory for: All Nurses, Pharmacy Moderate Sedation/Analgesia Mandatory for: All Nurses who administer moderate sedation/analgesia ORTHOPEDIC COMPLICATIONS-2017 Annual Competency This is an annual competency for Ortho/Neuro and Resource CNA s and Nurses. Participants will actively participate in a live patient simulation, using critical thinking to respond to a patient with post-operative orthopedic complications. 1.0 hour of CE credit will be awarded for participation in this class. *This course must be registered for separately in Healthstream* Mandatory For*: Ortho/Neuro (4-2) & Resource Nurses and CNAs *Participation is mandatory during this expo because the only opportunities to complete this competency are at the March expo* Category: Simulation Session Time: 50 minutes OXYGEN THERAPY & TRACHEOSTOMY CARE This class will provide a hands on overview of all oxygen delivery devices. Participants will be able to identify oxygen devices and know when to change devices during patient care. In addition, participants will understand how to perform tracheostomy cleaning procedures. Target Audience: All Nurses, Techs, CNAs, Cardiopulmonary, ARU, and BHS Category: Equipment Session Time: 50 minutes

Concurrent Sessions- March continued PRECEPTOR WORKSHOP 101: Essential Preceptor Skills A preceptor s role in onboarding healthcare professionals extends into the successful transition of the new employee to the work environment. This preceptor program is required for all new preceptors. Note: This class will be held at CRMC West Campus. *This course must be registered for separately in Healthstream* Mandatory For: Any person wishing to precept new employees Target Audience: All future clinical preceptors Category: Professional Development Session Time: 4 hours PRECEPTOR WORKSHOP 102: Assessing Competency Assuring that a new employee demonstrates their competency in a required skill set is the foundation to the evaluation process for a new employee. Preceptors will learn the skill of assessing and validating competency with their new employee. Note: This class will be held at CRMC West Campus. *This course must be registered for separately in Healthstream* Prerequisite: Preceptor Workshop 101 at least 30 days prior to registering for this course Mandatory For: Any person wishing to precept new employees Target Audience: All future clinical preceptors Category: Professional Development Session Time: 4 hours RESTRAINTS-2017 Annual Competency Participants must first complete the Healthstream learning module on restraints and then attend this short class to demonstrate proper application, use and release of restraints. Required participants only need to attend this course one time to satisfy the 2017 requirement. Mandatory For: All Nurses, Techs, and CNAs from these units: ED, Radiology, WCS, Cardiac Services, ICU, Tower & Resource, TCU, ARU, Hospice, Cardiopulmonary RT s and EKG techs, PT/OT Category: Annual Compliance Session Length: 10 minutes STROKE NARRATOR In this class, participants will be able to effectively navigate areas of the ASAP Stroke narrator, correctly document key pieces of information, and explain the differences between the ED narrator and Specialty narrator. Mandatory For: ED Nurses
