5. COMMENTS Medical Director Dr. Lillian Avner Cyano Kits o Research shows close to 90% of closed fire structure deaths are the result of cyanide, not fire and smoke o Any exposure to closed structure fire smoke can result in cyanide poisoning Does not always result in instant death. Affected can go home after exposure not feeling well and die much later than originally exposed. Anyone feeling sick should seek immediate attention (Cyano Kit) Kits are available at both Martin North and South People going to the ER after exposure should say that they were involved in a closed structure fire and that they think they have cyanide poisoning.
