That s why we provide a range of youth options that can get you a senior secondary qualification, a trade or a vocational qualification it s your choice!

Like VCE, VCAL is a recognised qualification for Year 11 and Year 12 students. VCAL is combined with a VET (Vocational Education and Training) certificate so you get two qualifications in one year. This gives you practical, work related education and training. VCAL is offered at three levels Foundation, Intermediate and Senior. You choose the level that is right for you. VCAL is delivered at Harvester Technical College in Sunshine and the Western Bulldogs education site in Footscray West.

Pre-apprenticeship programs are an industry-recognised pathway into an apprenticeship. Many employers prefer to take you on as an apprentice if you have done a pre-apprenticeship it shows them that you are really interested! To be eligible, you must be at least 16 years of age. A pre-apprenticeship helps you gain a good understanding of the work involved in a particular trade. You develop important basic skills and get some hands-on experience.

An apprenticeship provides on and off - the - job training which gets you a nationally recognised qualification while you work. To do an apprenticeship, you must have an employer who is willing to give you a job. And to have the best chance of obtaining an apprenticeship, it s better if you stay in school and then complete a pre-apprenticeship. The current skill shortage in Australia s workforce has seen an increased demand for trade apprentices, with excellent career prospects.
