2013 Meeting The 2013 meeting of the SEBPP was held in Norfolk, Virginia from April 2 to April 4 The meeting was well attended with a total of 167 individuals participating. This total attendance included 38 DOT representatives, 4 local agency representatives, 3 FHWA representatives, 3 AASHTO representatives, 6 NCPP representatives, and 113 industry representatives.

SEBPP Activities Planning for 2014 National Bridge Preservation Partnership Conference Supported local agency participation in partnership activities, including sponsoring local agencies to attend the 2014 National Bridge Preservation Partnership Conference Promoted the establishment of System Preservation and Preventive Maintenance agreements between SEBPP Member DOT s and FHWA Division offices
SEBPP Activities Website Development Support the NCPP s development of the TSP2 website (tsp2.org). Postings of SEBPP Working Group Deliverables: Round Table Discussions, PowerPoint presentations, and Videos capturing actual presentations and Questions and Answers (Q&As). Postings of new and ongoing relevant research.
SEBPP Activities Performance Specifications - Collaborate in the development of a Pilot Bridge Preservation Performance Specification that is workable and appropriate for the Owner, Supplier, and Contractor. (All Bridge Partnerships will participate in this national initiative.)

Other Training Training Web Page on TSP2 Site Transportation Curriculum Coordination Council (TC3) Courses - TC3 is a state-based initiative recently adopted as a Technical Service Program within AASHTO, the Transportation Curriculum Coordination Council (TC3)'s mission is to develop and maintain a quality training curriculum to enhance the competency of the nation's transportation Construction, Maintenance, and Materials technical workforce. The TC3 is preparing a new contract for the development of web based training courses and a request for course topics was sent. Research University of Washington research reports concerning bridge washing have been published. Ohio DOT issued a research report titled "Instrumentation of the US Grant Bridge for Monitoring of Fabrication, Erection, In-Service Behavior, and to Support Management, Maintenance, and Inspection". The Region 2 University Transportation Research Center at Columbia University has released a report titled Field Methods for Determining Lead Content in Bridge Paint Removal Waste. This report considers an approach that provides in-situ characterization of waste classification for removal of paint from bridges and other structures.
Research The Virginia Center for Transportation Innovation and Research has issued a report titled Nondestructive Measurements Using Mechanical Waves in Reinforced Concrete Structures NCHRP Projects will be discussed during the report for the Bridge Technical Working Group of AASHTO SCOM
Technical Information The U.S. Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has released a tech brief that defines long-term bridge performance (LTBP) and discusses the importance of measuring bridge performance and practices. Bridge Preservation Ahead" signs have been used by some states the use of this sign will be reviewed with the FHWA MUTCD group.
