PG Diploma in Optical Retail Management This course intends to provide knowledge in various aspects of retail b u s i n e s s, i t s a p p l i c a t i o n i n o p t i c a l environment and to e q u i p t h e participants with skills to compete in the retail sector. Duration of the course : 1 year Eligibility: Any undergraduate degree with science background

OPTOMETRY PROGRAMS CERTIFICATE COURSES Duration of the course: 3 months (1 month online training and 8 weeks in house training) Eligibility: Bachelor degree in Optometry/ Diploma in Optometry with minimum 2 years of experience. Certificate Course in Basic Vision Therapy The certificate course imparts an overview of the various basic (binocular) vision anomalies and the assessment and diagnosis of the same. At the end of the course, the primary eye care practitioner would be aware of the treatment modalities and able to make appropriate referrals. Certificate Course in Digital Biometry This course enables to understand the basic principles of Digital Biometry and to t r a i n e y e c a r e professionals in handling instruments related to IOL power calculations and in selecting the ideal spikes in A scan biometry. Certificate Course in Cornea Diagnostics This course enables to understand the b a s i c c o r n e a l c o n d i t i o n s, t h e p r i n c i p l e s o f d i a g n o s t i c instruments and its importance. The optometrist will also be trained to interpret the test reports. Certificate course in Retina Diagnostics This course ensures the optometrist to understand the basic retinal conditions. It further provides knowledge in the principles of various diagnostic instruments, the procedures performed and interpretation of test reports in correlation with the fundus picture. Certificate course in Glaucoma Diagnostics This course enables the optometrist to understand the basic glaucoma conditions, p r i n c i p l e s a n d procedures of the diagnostic instruments used and its need in interpreting the results. Continuing Optometric Education (COE) COE aims to impart knowledge and training to practicing optometrists and optometry students. It builds professional g ro w t h i n t h e i r expertise through up g r a d a t i o n i n technology, new discoveries in medicine, and improvements in practice settings. Duration of the course : 12 Sessions (1 session per month) Eligibility: Practicing Optometrists who hold a Diploma in Optometry/ BS Optometry and Students who are enrolled in a four year Optometry course, and are currently in the third/ final year.

FELLOWSHIP COURSES Duration of the course: 6 months Eligibility: BS degree in optometry (or) Diploma in Optometry/ Refraction with minimum 2 years of clinical experience and competitive mark in the course previously done Fellowship in Contact Lens This fellowship p r o v i d e s intensive clinical, t e a c h i n g a n d r e s e a r c h experience to individuals in Basic, advanced and specialty fitting, problem solving and handling complications in contact lens. The fellow will have the opportunity to work with the different specialties of contact lens clinic to update their knowledge and skills for their job role. Fellowship in Vision Therapy This fellowship is designed to provide i n d i v i d u a l s intensive clinical, t e a c h i n g a n d r e s e a r c h experience in behavioral and developmental vision care, binocular vision, and vision therapy protocols. The fellow will have the opportunity to work with the diverse population at the Binocular Vision/ Vision therapy clinic and at the Pediatric clinic. INSTITUTIONAL COURSE Certificate Course in Hospital Management This course helps to improve and update participants knowledge about the concept of H o s p i t a l Management. It aims to increase t h e o v e r a l l understanding of management issues and concepts. It develops skills for a professional approach and leadership quality thereby preparing individuals for managerial positions. Duration of the course : 12 Sessions (1 session per week) Eligibility: Graduate with 50% marks from a recognized university. DISTANCE LEARNING PROGRAM (DLP) Essilor India Private Limited, Bangalore has signed up with Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai to provide quality education in the field of lens dispensing through customized courses to sales persons in optical outlets and other aspiring students in dispensing spectacle lenses.
