Project characteristics Well designed and prepared small scale renewable energy projects. Positive socio-economic and environmental benefits on local small community. Strong community support. The technology and project features can be replicated, are transformative and/or innovative. Economic feasibility demonstrated. Supports country initiatives and priorities - the project will add to the renewable energy target for the country and also improve the nation s electrical energy stability. Eligibility and funding Eligibility Renewable energy: bioenergy, geothermal, hydro, ocean, solar, wind and hybrid systems. IRENA membership and on OECD DAC list of ODA recipients. ADFD loan terms USD50m loans in each cycle. USD5-15m loans for each project. 50% of the project cost covered, rest needs to be co-financed. 1-2% loan rate, 5 year grace period, 20 year loan period. ADFD conditions Feasibility study costs not covered. Other sources of funds needed. If more than one project submitted, government needs to indicate priority projects under question 23 in the Executive Project Summary. Government guarantee letter required. 5
