Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust Apprenticeships at EPUT
We employ apprentices and offer apprenticeships The apprenticeships offered by EPUT include: Business Administration Level 2 and 3 Customer Services Level 2 and 3 Health & Social Care Level 2, 3 and higher However staff can access the below link, which shows the range of apprenticeships on offer. Staff can then choose an apprenticeship which is relevant to their role, for example staff working in finance can undertake an apprenticeship in accounting. www.jobs.nhs.uk Development Pathways We offer a number of development pathways both clinical and nonclinical. The clinical pathways include a fully supported pathway to nursing qualifications.
Advanced Apprenticeships Level 3 in Health & Social Care The Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Health & Social Care is the replacement for the NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care that many have probably heard of previously. The Apprenticeship lasts approximately 14 months and has several elements involved. Those who do not already have a GCSE grade C or Level 2 Functional Skill in Maths and English which can be proven with certification will be required to undertake these qualifications alongside a level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care. During the course there is a requirement for 20% off the job training. We realise that units/teams can find this a struggle, so this is achieved through a full day workshop on Diploma content once a month, other extra training days, and at least 4 one week block placements where learners work in a different unit. There will need to be time given for learners to complete reflective accounts. An e-portfolio system is used to create a portfolio of work, assignments will be submitted this way. Observations will be performed on Apprentices by their tutor to meet some of the qualification criteria. At the end of the programme there is an End Point Assessment. This involves a multiple choice situational judgement test, professional discussion and final observation. These will need to be passed to achieve the apprenticeship. This qualification is the gateway to Higher Apprenticeships which will be in place of the Associate Practitioner qualification, and nursing top up. Courses are due to begin in May and September of 2018. All candidates will be required to attend an interview/assessment day prior to the beginning of the course. In the first instance, all enquiries should be directed to: Kim Allen Workforce Development Team - kimberley.allen@nhs.net

Working on the EPUT bank Whilst EPUT strives to recruit and retain a high skilled workforce, we recognise that our bank workers also provide a high standard quality care to patients alongside our substantive staff. Working on the EPUT bank allows you to gain experience and skills whilst also having the flexibility to work the shifts and placements that fit around you and your commitments. Many of EPUT bank staff go on to secure substantive roles within the Trust whilst our substantive employees work additional bank shifts and go on to choose to stay working on the Trust bank after retirement. The Trust has a dedicated Temporary Staffing Office that builds relationships with all of our bank staff and keeps in regular contact to establish availability alongside our employee online system that allows workers to view all upcoming shifts available and self-book. The Trust offers competitive pay rates with annual rises to work on the bank as well as an additional financial uplift for annual leave entitlement and encourages any agency workers who would like to transfer over to the bank the opportunity to do so. The Trust is continually looking to increase our bank workforce and in all areas and would encourage applicants to look out for adverts on NHS Jobs as well as details on our events page on this website. If you are an agency worker looking to transfer to the EPUT bank or a nurse that would like to join our bank please contact our recruitment team for further details on 01375 364513 or email recruitment.adverts@eput.nhs.uk
