Marina Seniors - 2018 End of Year Information Packet Wednesday March 21 Senior Day Seniors meet in the Gym at 8:30 a.m. for the mandatory senior assembly. Fun Senior Activities, plus Administration will meet with the seniors to discuss Graduation and end-of-year procedures. Graduation Tickets Every graduating Senior will receive four (4) tickets. And extra tickets can be requested. A request form for two (2) extra tickets will be distributed on Wednesday, March 21. Please return the form on Thursday, March 22 in room 301. Tickets will be distributed on Tuesday, June 12 in the cafeteria along with cap & gown distribution. Seating at Graduation is limited, so turn in your form as soon as possible because distribution is on a first come first served basis. Grad Images Included in this packet is a grey information card from Grad Images who takes photos at graduation. They need your email, etc. to send copies of you from Graduation Day. You can then view the photos and decide to purchase if you want them. No obligation to purchase. Tuesday May 1 All School Payments Beginning May 1, all transactions must be CASH or CREDIT CARD ONLY (no checks). Friday May 4 Prom tickets go on sale. Discounted price ONE DAY ONLY: $65 each person, w/ or w/out ASB. Saturday May 19 PROM at LA Center, 7:30 11:30 pm. Week of May 21-25 Graduation Speakers Sign up the week of May 21-25 in room 301. Maximum 10 auditions 5 Magna and Suma Students and 5 Non Magna and Suma students. Auditions will be Tuesday, May 29 at 12:00 pm in room 304. Monday May 21 The silent bid for reserved seating at graduation will begin on Monday May 21, 2018 and go until Tuesday, May 29, 2018. The top ten winners will be contacted by Thursday, May 31. ** Silent Auction Reserved Seating Bids ** The winning bids will have 1 bench reserved for them (one bench = 6 adults - must have tickets already) and 2 reserved parking spots. Payment will be due to the bookkeeper by the close of the day Monday June 4, 2018. Please remember - CASH only at this time. Any winning bids not paid on that date will have to relinquish their opportunity and the next highest bidder will be contacted. For more information contact the Marina Activities Office. 1

IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to request a FINAL transcript, you MUST select Next Grading Period when you place your order. If not, a 7 th semester transcript will be sent. Wednesday June 6 Underclassmen Only - Yearbook Distribution after 6th Period Thursday June 7 Fines All Textbooks must be turned in and Senior fines paid at the textbook room, English hallway Friday June 8 Make-up Finals Senior Check-Out - All Seniors are to attend all classes a. Go to attendance windows between 7:15 and 8:00 a.m. to pick-up Clearance check-out sheet 2

b. Textbook/Miscellaneous Clearance Textbook Room/English Hallway c. TEACHERS will sign clearance check-out sheet period-by-period on June 8. NOT BEFORE. All fines must be paid before clearance can be completed (more info for June 8 on the next page...) Friday June 8 (cont d) Clearance check-out sheet MUST be completed with all signatures by the end of the day. DO NOT lose completed check-out sheet over the weekend! If you loose this sheet, you will have to repeat the entire clearance process. Senior Honors Night in the Gym (Invitation Only) Arrive at 5:00 pm. Ceremony begins at 5:30 p.m. Monday June 11 SENIOR CHECK-OUT MAKE-UP DAY Make-up Finals & Senior check-out for those who were absent on June 8. Tuesday June 12 SENIOR CLEARANCE CAP/GOWN & GRAD TICKET DISTRIBUTION Cap/Gown and Graduation Ticket distribution is in the Student Cafeteria- 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. Seniors must FIRST take their signed check-out sheet to the attendance windows to receive a stamp, thus completing the check-out process. Students must turn in completed check-out sheet (with stamped approval) at Cap/Gown pick up station in the cafeteria. IF YOU DID NOT PRE-ORDER YOUR CAP AND GOWN: Come to Room 301 for more information or contact Scott Graduation Services at www.scottgraduation.com OR buy on June 12, $40 CASH ONLY. Reserving Graduation Tickets All graduates will receive four (4) tickets Photo I.D. card is required when picking up tickets, cap and gown. Students who need extra tickets may request an additional (2) two tickets, (form to be received March 21). Seating is limited, therefore distribution of extra tickets will be on a first come, first served basis. The request for extra tickets may be turned in beginning March 22 at the Activities Office, Room 301. The actual tickets will be distributed at the same time as cap and gown on Tues., June 12. Students needing more than a total of six (6) tickets can ask friends who may not need all of their allotted tickets. Wednesday June 13 Mandatory Graduation Rehearsal will be held in the Bowl at 8:30 a.m. You must attend rehearsal to participate in the graduation ceremony. Grad Night T-shirt Distribution The Grad Night Committee will hand out shirts to everyone who purchased a Grad Night ticket after the rehearsal. Senior Sunset at a location at the beach to be announced. Thursday - June 14 Graduation in the Bowl 4:00 p.m. 3

GRADUATION DAY THURSDAY, JUNE 14, 2018 Seniors are NOT allowed on campus during the school day 1. Seniors report to the tennis courts carrying cap and gown at 3:00 p.m. Entrance to the courts must be along either side of the school, NOT through the front admission gates. Please, do not bring any items that need to be carried with you. 2. Parents, friends or family are NOT allowed in the tennis court area. 3. Graduation Ceremony - 4 p.m. - Bowl 4. Grad Night (all night party) June 14 at 9:00 p.m. 4:30 a.m. June 15 at Marina. Parents and Guests of Graduates: Leis, corsages or anything decorative will not be permitted on graduate s caps and gowns during the ceremony. Balloons and signs block the view of the stage and are NOT allowed. Anyone bringing balloons or signs will be asked to return them to their car until after the ceremony is over. Graduation Instructions: You are the 53 rd Graduating Class of Marina High School. Your graduation ceremony is very important to you, your parents and staff of Marina High School. The ceremony should reflect this occasion. 1. Dress: Boys - White or light shirt, tie, dark slacks, dark shoes and dark socks. No flip-flop shoes. 2. Dress: Girls - Light colored dress (dark colors will show through gown) No flip-flop shoes. 3. Do not bring ANYTHING with you except ID, keys, cell phone, and sunglasses (optional): No gum, cameras, purses, corsages, flowers, balloons, backpacks and or leis. (MHS will not be responsible for any of these confiscated items). No decorations on caps/gowns. No Flowers of any kind during the ceremony. Graduation Ceremony - Only guests with tickets will be admitted at 3:00pm. Guests will not be seated during the processional. Once the processional has ended, gates will be opened to anyone. A professional photography company, Grad Images, will offer a photo package to every graduate participating in the ceremony. Information on this service will be distributed at Senior Day, March 21. Photographs are not to be taken from the aisle during any portion of the ceremony as it disrupts the commencement program. Please instruct your guests that this is a serious and solemn occasion and that you would appreciate their cooperation in this regard. Applause and outbursts of noise for an individual make it impossible to hear the next name. Every parent should be afforded the opportunity to hear his or her student s name as it is read. Diploma delivery... will take place immediately after the graduation ceremony in the cafeteria. Grad Night - All Night Party... At Marina High School - 9:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. NO admittance after 11:00 pm Diploma... Seniors who do not participate in graduation, may pick up their diploma from the Registrar, Ms. Tubbs, beginning Tuesday, June 19-10:00 a.m. to Noon / 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. You must show current photo ID. 4
