Administrative History Located in Delaware County in east central Indiana, Muncie Community Schools is an urban school district with over 6,000 students in a culturally-diverse community adjacent to Ball State University. Having the most comprehensive course offerings in the area and multiple state-award winning instrumental programs, as well as the addition of a new high performance elementary school, affords MCS the opportunity to be one of the most unique school districts in the nation. The district has nine elementary schools, 2 middle schools, 2 high schools, an alternative program, an area career center, and adult community education programs housed in over 15 locations in the greater Muncie/Delaware County Area.
