Alsace was labelized as a French Tech ecosystem in 2015 wih a special mention for its excellence in IT linked o medical technologies and biotechnologies. Its know-how in IT applied to industrial process (smart manufacturing) was then recognized the following year. Focus 4iTEC 4.0 The open innovation center 4iTEC 4.0 is a company created by 5 industrial groups : PSA Peugeot Citroën, ALSTOM, Papeterie Zuber Rieder, SEB and CLEMESSY. The aim is to launch and set up innovative solutions by fostering industrial and academic collaborative collaborations. The challenge is to modernize manufacturing companies by innovating with Factory of the Future s technological solutions. 4ITEC 4.0 offers the share of project s development costs between partners by giving them a possibility to mutualize. 4ITEC 4.0 s main wish is to speed up innovations industrialization and commercialization among plants in a short period of time. 4iTEC 4.0 has launched a 2600 m2 area on the PSA Group plant in Mulhouse including offices and prototyping spaces. All the solution providers and end-users are allowed to use the experimental, physical and intellectual means shared by the member companies and labs.
