The Make A Difference Trust (t/a TheatreMAD) A Background The Make A Difference Trust was formed by original founders and volunteers of West End Cares and Theatrecares in May 2008 to support people living with HIV and AIDS in the UK and overseas, and people working in the entertainment industry living with other long term conditions. The Charity, also know as MAD Trust, trades as TheatreMAD (Theatre: Make A Difference) and is known for such events as the annual Theatre Bucket Collections, West End Eurovision, West End Bares, A West End Christmas etc. More information on both our fundraising and our disbursement can be found on our website at www.madtrust.org.uk Mission Statement The Make A Difference Trust exists to make a difference to the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS; and, people working in the entertainment industry living with other long term medical conditions. We relieve poverty and illness, educate, and support home-based and community care programmes through independent fundraising and grant making. Charitable Objectives To relieve sickness and health and to preserve health, in particular but without limitation, by providing assistance to: a. those who are living with Human Immune deficiency Virus ( HIV ), and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome ( AIDS ); and, b. members of the entertainment industry, their partners, relations and dependants who are living with long term conditions. The Make A Difference Trust targets its grant making activities towards making a tangible difference in both the day to day lives of: people living with HIV/AIDS as well as raising the public awareness and educating about the virus; and, people working in the entertainment industry living with other long term conditions.
