Program Purposes To prepare graduates possessing entry-level knowledge and skills for administering nursing care to diverse individuals and groups. To provide students with a program of learning that fulfills the requirements of an Associate Degree in Nursing. To help provide for the health care needs of the community by graduating individuals eligible for the licensure examination. To provide a broad-based humanistic experience for the purpose of effecting self - actualization and ongoing personal development as a health care participant and a member of the community. 3

Nursing AAS degree; eligible to take NCLEX-RN exam 5-semester program (1 pre-clinical; 4 clinical) Clinical courses are sequential Clinical courses fall and spring semester only 24 credits of general education BIOL 111; BIOL 112; BIOL 213; ENGL 121; ENGL 122; PSYC 106; PSYC 208 40 credits of career studies 5 credits HESC HESC 107 AND HESC 105 or HESC 115 or HESC 165 35 credits NURS 5

3 rd Semester (2 nd clinical) NURS 172: Nursing Concepts 2 NURS 211: Professional Roles 2 6 credits 1 credit PSYC 208 (Lifespan) is a pre-requisite for 4 th semester (3 rd clinical) NURS 165 (Issues) anytime after 1 st semester. Offered during summer 8
4 th Semester (3 rd clinical) NURS 271: Nursing Concepts 3 NURS 211: Professional Roles 3 7 credits 1 credit BI OL 213(Micro) is a pre-requisite for 5 th semester (4th clinical) 9
5 th Semester (4 th clinical) NURS 272: Nursing Concepts 4 NURS 212: Professional Roles 4 5 credits 4 credits ENGL 122 is a requirement for graduation. We suggest earliest possible semester and BEFORE NURS 165. 10

After the AP Challenge Students will complete NURS 125 and NURS 111 in either SUIII or Fall semester after the challenge Students will enter semester 3 of the program after these courses have been completed Three 15 week semesters required before graduation Placement in fall or spring semester dependent upon seat availability and student preference 12
