This instruction relates to the forth coming Marine Cadet Summer Camp for Alpha, Bravo, Lima, X-Ray, Yankee, Zulu Companies and International Exchange Staff and Cadets to be held at: Okehampton Camp Okehampton EX20 1QP 2. Company Commanders, Troop Commander and Detachment Commanders are to ensure that their Staff and Cadets receive this information URGENTLY.
AIM 3. The main aim for the camp is a multi activity training package, providing challenging training and team building for Cadets and Staff alike and additionally further vital staff training. CONDUCT a. Improve field skills and tactics for all ranks. b. Introduction to abseiling, top roping and adventure training. c. To improve Map Reading skills. d. Weapons handling and shooting. e. General physical training. f. Staff training. General Conduct 4. The principal exercise for the week is for all cadets and staff to achieve the following training objectives; a. A greater understanding of basic and advanced field training and tactics. b. Weapons handling & skill at arms to advanced skills. c. Adventurous training. d. Staff Training. e. To further the understanding and co-operation of all companies within the battalion role. Range Action Safety Plan 5. A Range Action and Safety Plan will be promulgated by the HQSO (WT) Lt (SCC) G Johnstone RMR. Submitted to the SRMO by 10 th July 2009. Exercise Action Safety Plan 6. An Exercise Action Safety Plan will be produced by the Company Training Officers. Submitted to the SRMO by 10 th July 2009. Training Programme 7. The Headquarters Company Training Officer will forward a detailed main event plan by 10 th July 2009. 8. Individual Company Training Officers will Co-ordinate Staff and Cadets for each activity or course. CO-ORDINATING INSTRUCTIONS Staffing 9. The normal company command appointments will be advised on completion of full company and headquarters company requirements additional staff will be required for the advanced party (from Thursday 23 rd July 2009). The RSM will nominate the advance party in due course. The principle command appointments are covered in Annex D, the remainder HQ Company appointments will be distributed in Camp Joining instructions.
Staff and Cadet Applications 10. Westminster will close for camp on Monday 6 th July 2009 at 0800 hours. All camp monies need to be sent to the courses office at Fort Block by Friday 3 rd July 2009. Changes and Amendments 11. Any changes that are required will be made at Okehampton Training Camp. Organisation and Location of Activities 12. As per Headquarters Company Training Officer directions and will be promulgated at Okehampton Training Camp. Timings 13. A full detail of timing and sequence of events will be covered in joining instructions. SERVICE SUPPORT Dress and Equipment 14. Dress for the week for all Ranks is in See Annex B for Staff & Annex C for Cadets, iaw SCC Uniform Regulations. Weapons a. Staff will require training manuals. b. Bedding will be supplied. 15. All weapons requirements are in Annex A administration instructions. Medical 16. Transport will be co-ordinated by the SRMO and MTO. Feeding a. Transport will be by coach / mini bus authorised by the SRMO. b. White fleet transport for movement of weapons and ammo. c. Private transport is to be authorised by the SRMO. d. All above TBC. e. Movement Instructions will be distributed in due course. f. A transport meeting is to take place on Tuesday 9 th June 2009. 18. As per Headquarter Company Orders. a. RSM to order 24 hour ration packs, cookers and fuel from SCC Stores. Administration Requirements 19. All administration requirements are detailed in Annex A. a. The CQMS (RQMS) is to ensure all normal company stores are listed marked and are ready and available for use at Okehampton. b. CSM s/troop Cdr s to ensure all held office equipment is available for use. c. All training teams will submit requests for stores through the QM.
COMMAND AND COMMUNICATIONS 20. Overall control and command will be with the SRMO/Headquarters Company Commanding Officer. a. Headquarters & Company command structure is in Annex D. b. SRMO will advise Company Command structure. c. The Training Officer will direct all Training activities at Coy level. d. A CEI is in Annex E. e.
