Presents Pass Training For Section 5307, Section 5310 and Section 5311 Sub recipients as follows: Huntsville Mobile Pelham Montgomery September 12 15 2011 September 26 29, 2011 October 3 6, 2011 October 31 November 3, 2011 The (PASS) Driver Certification Program has been developed by the Community Transportation Association of America to ensure that community transportation drivers have current expertise in passenger assistance techniques and sensitivity skills appropriate for serving persons with disabilities. The PASS program is designed as either a three-day Train-the-Trainer course to certify trainers who can then train other drivers or as a two-day Driver course in which certified instructors directly facilitate training for transit drivers. Some of the advantages of offering the PASS certification program is the ability to reduce organizational liability; comprehensive, upto-date training on the assistance drivers should be providing to passengers with special needs; intensive emergency situation training; certification oversight provided by national leaders in the community transportation field; and updates for all participants on relevant regulatory changes. Participation is mandatory for all Section 5307, Section 5310, and Section 5311 sub recipients of the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT). Only the two-day driver certification program is being offered at this time. Please complete and return the enclosed registration form. Participants are strongly encouraged to pre-register in order to secure desired sessions. The course outlines the two-day driver certification program. This training will be divided as shown in the schedule.

Training Instructors Ed Rohrbach is the president of the company and one of the instructors. After college and a tour in the Air Force, Ed was involved in the health equipment industry in Alabama then moved on to Texas. While in Texas he was introduced to Defensive Driving and found that he loved it. He completed the required Texas Board of Education training and taught for several established training companies in the Dallas, Ft. Worth Area. Later Ed relocated to Arkansas where he contracted with Mid-South Safety Council and began teaching throughout Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Tennessee, and other states. This allowed him to hone his teaching skills to adult, court, and corporate audiences. Ed returned to Alabama in 1997 to be close to his family and Karen, his friend since 1st grade; who two years later became his wife. Ed is responsible for the marketing and program development for TAI. Ed continues to teach classes whenever he can because he says that is one of his favorite things to do. If you've ever attended a class taught by him then you understand. Ed also conducts all of TAI's "Train the Trainer" classes. Richard Grubbs - Richard and Linda have been married for almost 40 years and Richard still refers to her as, "My Bride." Richard worked a total of 35 years in law enforcement - beginning with the Mountain Brook Police Department before his hitch with the US Army and continuing with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department after his honorable discharge. He has been affiliated with numerous safety organizations, most prominently being a Level 1 & Level 2 Presenter for Operation Lifesaver, Inc. before coming to work for Training Associates, Inc. Richard taught TAI classes for five years before taking on the job of Training Director which he held for four years and retired in June of 2011.
