National Honor Society Coral Reef Senior High School Application Welcome, incoming applicant! In accordance with the principles of National Honor Society, the advisor and officers are looking for well-rounded students who are superior in academics, leadership, and school involvement. Students are applicable for membership if they are a junior or senior during the 2017 2018 school year with an unweighted GPA of at least 3.50 and a minimum of 50 hours of community service. All sections of the application must be completed, and in instances where qualifications cannot be given in any section, please indicate this. List each activity only once in the most appropriate section. This application must be completed and submitted in the NHS box in Ms. Medina s room, room 211, by October 12, 2017 by 2:30 p.m. or it will not be considered. Please do not come in between classes to drop the application off. Before school or during lunch only. National Honor Society Contract I, the undersigned, understand that the National Honor Society is dedicated to Leadership, Scholarship, the development of Character, and Community Service. I understand that if accepted to the National Honor Society, I will be held in a new, higher standard, and will conduct myself appropriately thereafter. I further understand, that by joining the National Honor Society I will be expected to participate in chapter events and attend chapter meetings. I understand that I am required to have accumulated five hours and one NHS event every month by the date decided by the club. I understand that I am required to attend all meetings unless an excused absence has been approved with the club sponsor and president, and that my absence has been recorded with the secretary. I understand that I am responsible for making sure that the chapter secretary has kept an accurate record of my attendance at any event. I understand that I am required to maintain a 3.50 unweighted GPA. I further understand, that a violation of any of the above stipulations can result in probation or revocation, of my membership as a National Honor Society member, or any other punishment, as seen fit by the National Honor Society sponsor and president.
