OLSH College Bentleigh 2020 Scholarship Information Flame Scholarship The Flame Scholarship will be awarded to students who best demonstrate their lived commitment to the four pillars of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart education. Flame Scholarship Criteria Students who are shortlisted for a Flame Scholarship will attend an interview as part of the final selection process.
Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of excellence in all aspects of school life, a demonstrated commitment to living the four pillars of OLSH education and the interview. Required Supporting Documentation A document (not to exceed 500 words) from a parent or guardian outlining the reasons why you believe the student should be considered for a scholarship at OLSH College Details of community service and social justice involvement whilst at school and also in the wider community A Faith Commitment Statement A leadership profile to include: A list of leadership positions held within their school and/or community Correspondence outlining their leadership style and achievements in such roles The student s most recent school report The student s most recent NAPLAN test results A reference letter from one of their teachers Any other correspondence deemed relevant to their application. Responsibilities of the Scholarship Recipient Students who receive a Flame Scholarship will: Be committed to the spirit of OLSH College according to the OLSH Pillars of Education. Be a role model to all as a young woman of Heart who fully participates in all aspects of school life. Be an outstanding ambassador for OLSH College whilst at the School and in the wider community. Be available to undertake a number of roles as designated by the College including conducting school tours, attending reunions and representing OLSH College on and off campus in the role of Student Ambassador. Take on Leadership positions during their time at OLSH College. Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in all that they undertake. Meet all the responsibilities of a successful student as outlined in the individual scholarship information documents. Application Process All applications are to be completed and submitted to the College by Friday 13 April 2018, 4.00pm. Only fully completed applications will be accepted. Application Costs $100.00 Application Fee Multiple applications per student are accepted under this one fee. Terms and Conditions Scholarships offered will be awarded at the discretion of the Principal for a percentage of remission of tuition fees only. The scholarships do not cover costs such as uniform, books, camps and excursions or any other cocurricular activities such as music lessons unless specified. The number of scholarships offered will vary depending on the quality of the applicants. The scholarships awarded are tenable until the end of Year 12, subject to satisfactory continuing performance. A review of all scholarship recipients will be conducted annually.
Recipients of a scholarship will be required to pay the standard application fee, enrolment fee, bond and any other future levies introduced whilst the student is enrolled at the College. If a student withdraws from the College, the family will be required to refund the value of the scholarship provided. Confidentiality All terms and conditions of an OLSH College Scholarship must remain confidential between the College and the family.
