Job Description and Person Specification Job Title: Campaigns and Digital Officer Reports to: Head of Campaigns and Digital Salary: 38,678 full-time, plus up to 5% employee matched pension contribution Date call released: 1 May 2018 Deadline for applications: Monday 21 st May 2018 by 9am Start date: ASAP Duration: 12 month fixed term full-time contract. About Reprieve Reprieve is a UK charity with an international reach, founded in 1999 by human rights lawyer Clive Stafford Smith. We use strategic interventions to end the use of the death penalty globally, and secret prisons and state-sanctioned assassinations in the context of the so-called war on terror. Through a combination of investigation, litigation, and education, we assist those accused of the most extreme crimes, such as acts of murder or terrorism, as it is in such cases that human rights are most likely to be jettisoned or eroded. The prisoners that we assist typically cannot find advocates elsewhere. Reprieve focuses on cases involving the world s most powerful governments, especially those that should be upholding the highest standards when it comes to adherence to human rights. Reprieve utilizes three cross-cutting strategies for the enforcement of human rights: Investigation: we deploy investigators around the world to uncover the facts -- facts that could make a difference in an individual case or expose the frailties of an entire justice system. Litigation: our in-house lawyers, associate fellows and pro-bono legal partners assist prisoners facing execution at the hands of the state, or those imprisoned outside the reach of the law in the war on terror. We concentrate on cases with the potential to have a wider impact on law or policy. Public Education: Reprieve is broadening the debate about human rights abuses surrounding the death penalty and the War on Terror - educating the public, shifting the narrative, promoting best practices, and bringing new voices to the discussion.

Reprieve s main office is based in London, UK. Reprieve also supports full time Reprieve Fellows, who work as lawyers, investigators and advocates in different countries. Reprieve works with partners in jurisdictions globally, including Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), government officials, individual lawyers and human rights defenders, as well as individual, corporate and foundation funders. How to Apply To apply, please submit a CV and covering letter, setting out how you are suited to the role, to applications@reprieve.org.uk by the date above. Please ensure your email has the subject heading Campaigns and Digital Officer, and that all attachments are sent in PDF format with your name in the document title. Please confirm in the body of your email that you have the right to work in the UK. Interviews for shortlisted candidates will be held in Central London.
