Fundraising Manager Permanent Full Time Salary is in the range 29,000 to 32,000 depending on experience plus company benefits Based mainly in Edinburgh City Centre with travel in Scotland Thank you for your interest in becoming our new Fundraising Manager This is a new and exciting post for the Social Enterprise Academy, a global social enterprise founded in Scotland. For the past four years, the Social Enterprise Academy has been sharing its business and learning delivery models with international partners through a social franchising approach. We now have a number of international Social Enterprise Academy Hubs at different stages of inception and development in Australia, South Africa, Malawi, Malaysia, China, Italy and Pakistan. As a result of our growth in Scotland and internationally, the Academy is setting up and investing in a fundraising function. We want to help more people and organisations to use their strengths to build sustainable social enterprises and achieve greater social impact. Raising capacity funding and investment for the Academy s growth is key to enabling us to achieve this greater social impact. The fundraising function is therefore an important role that will work closely with me and our highly involved and capable Board of trustees. We are looking for someone with excellent fundraising experience, someone who is energetic, proactive and positive and can form strong partnerships with trusts, foundations, high net worth individuals and corporates. You will lead on the Academy s fundraising drive which is underpinned by a strategy that you can build on. You will feel comfortable working with the third, private and public sector. Main Purpose of the Post We are seeking a talented individual to set up and develop a fundraising function at the Academy. Reporting to the Chief Executive and working closely with the Board, this is an exceptional opportunity for a creative and motivated person to join our highly functional and committed team. You will be able to demonstrate a strong track record of and experience in a fundraising role. We are open to appointing a candidate with no previous experience of setting up a fundraising function or of line management responsibilities, and will support you in growing your skills in both of these areas. The salary will reflect your level of experience. The most important factor is that you bring experience of fundraising, building strong relationships and have a creative and innovative approach to raising funds. You will be offered membership of the Institute of Fundraising and will be expected to undertake continuing professional development. An audit and draft fundraising strategy has been created that you can input into and this is receiving support and investment from the Board. The key responsibilities for this role include: Researching, spotting and identifying fundraising opportunities Writing grant applications to trusts, foundations or statutory bodies and building relationships with them Identifying and building relationships with major private donors, high net worth individuals and private sector companies as well as drafting proposals Nurturing and deepening the relationship with individual and company donors We are therefore looking for evidence of a successful track record in any of the above areas.
Job Description Strategic development Lead on the development and implementation of the fund-raising strategy Grow and develop a targeted, strategic programme of trust and foundation fundraising Identify and grow a targeted, strategic programme of fundraising aimed at high net worth individuals Develop and implement a corporate fund-raising plan with support from the Chief Executive and Board members Operational Monitor and report on fundraising targets and achievements to ensure the fundraising KPIs are successfully met Prepare clear, accurate and engaging written fundraising applications, project plans and proposals Manage the grant application process, ensuring that monitoring and reporting are tracked and delivered to meet donors expectations Establish, maintain and develop fit-for-purpose systems to manage the fundraising process from research stage through to grant reporting Work closely with key Academy project staff to ensure grant conditions are implemented and met Management Provide high quality reports and information to the Chief Executive, Leadership Team, Social Enterprise Academy Board and relevant funders and donors in line with their requirements Handle accounts to ensure major donors or companies are happy with their donation scheme and are kept informed of progress and milestones Recruit a second member of the fund-raising team in due course as required Provide line management for additional members of the team in due course as required Contribute, as an integral member of the team, to the development and success of the Social Enterprise Academy

You build relationships quickly and easily, seeing connections and opportunities wherever you go You feel excited about engaging with high net worth individuals, corporates and trust and eager to help them contribute to changing the world through learning You naturally use your influencing skills to help people see how they can contribute to a greater purpose and mission Someone who cares deeply about society, you see the glass as half full and strive relentlessly to fill it Essential Educated to degree level and possess a relevant qualification or appropriate experience in a directly related post Knowledge of CRM systems Knowledge of Charitable trust fundraising techniques Experience of developing strong cases for support and securing five-figure donations from charitable trusts, private individuals, corporates or grant making funds Experience of budgets/income management Ability to problem solve and prioritise workload with an ability to understand/convey complex issues Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively with people at all levels both internally and externally Excellent IT skills with the ability to work confidently with Microsoft Office and database systems Commitment to Academy s Values Availability for occasional evening end work
