Barry Deutsch barryid@gmail.com Hello Brothers, It s hard to believe that a month has already gone by since Grand Lodge. With that in mind, I want to remind everyone that our Grand Masters Official Visit to our District is now that much closer. If you haven t put it on your calendar, please be sure to do so. The Grand Masters Official Visit is scheduled for Friday, July 21st, 2017. The reception supper will be held at American Legion Post 222 (next door to J. Dewey Hawkins Lodge). Registration will begin at 5:30 P.M. and you must have your dues card with you to register for the tyled meeting. Supper will be served at 6:30 P.M. The tyled meeting will be held in J. Dewey Hawkins Lodge, hosted by, of course, my own Lodge, North Broward 404. It will begin at 7:30 P.M. The ladies program will be held in the Legion Hall. I am going to need the assistance of all the Lodges to set up the Legion Hall for the supper and to break things down after everything is done for the evening. I am asking that all the Lodges volunteer teams to assist in the various functions. Worshipful Masters, please speak with the Craft and put your teams together. I will need teams to do everything from setting up tables and chairs, putting table cloths on the tables, etc, etc., prior to the event to taking out trash, breaking down the tables and chairs, and cleaning up after the event. Let me mention one other thing. You may think this unusual but, so you re not caught off guard, I wanted to mention it. The center pieces and some special items on the head table, will be available for purchase at a very modest price. The proceeds from these will go to the First Lady s project, so please be generous. Worshipful Masters, I ask that you encourage your Officers and the Craft to attend this visit. Remember, there is an accounting taken during the tyled meeting by the Grand Master and the Grand Line. Let s show our Grand Master why we re the best District in the state. As I mentioned in my last article, there will be one official and one un-official visit to each of the Lodges. I will be communicating with the Worshipful Masters as to those dates. The visits won t start until after the Grand Masters Official visit, as that is my main focus right now. Remember Brothers, these visits are not to criticize and condemn how you are doing business, they are meant to identify weaknesses and help fix those weaknesses. Once again, I want to encourage you to attend our Open Books and our District School of Instruction. Come and see our ritual work written out instead of in cypher. Find out what the correct words are. At the School of Instruction, learn how to conduct our ceremonies correctly. At the last School of Instruction, R.: H.: Tishman covered the Grand Masters visit and reception in the Lodge. It was good practice for all, including your District Deputy Grand Master. Finally, I will be making several trips this year to attend the Grand Masters visitation to other District s throughout the state. I would be very happy to have any of you travel along with me. I will publish a list of the visits I plan to attend and pass along the information regarding those visits as they become available. YOUTH CORNER Hollywood 12 Rainbow Girls!!!!! Congratulations Hollywood 12!! We are so excited to inform you our very own Hollywood 12 Rainbow Girl, Ansley Rae, has been selected as the Grand Worthy Advisor of the State of Florida. This is the highest office a Rainbow Girl can hold in her state. Doric Lodge, you had the privilege of meeting Ansley Rae when we attended your meeting to educate and promote our order. I do hope she was able to impress you and encourage your members with daughters, grand daughters, and friends to join our Assembly. For those affiliated in the organizations in our district who do not know what it means to be the Grand Worthy Advisor (GWA), think of it in this way. For Rainbow, Ansley Rae would be the equivalent position as your Grand Master of Florida. To be selected as a Grand Officer, the girls go through a rigorous application process. They must then perform their ritual work to be scored at the Zone Initiations and Official visits throughout the state. They must also be of high moral character and promote strong values and an enthusiasm for Rainbow. Then for a final review, the girls must sit in a panel interview with the Grand Executive Board at Grand Assembly, and perform well during their ritual work and responsibilities at Grand Assembly. Not only did we receive the GWA appointment for the 2017-2018 term, the Grand Executive Board also appointed Alexandra for the fourth highest office in the state, Grand Hope, and Sasha was appointed the Grand Representative to New Jersey and Montana. We are so blessed to have so many amazingly talented young ladies in our Assembly. As the Assembly who has the Grand Worthy Advisor in the East, we are responsible for hosting the 2017-2018 term and the 2018 Grand Assembly. This will involve extensive travel and expenses for Grand Assembly, many hours of labor and fundraising, and many talented hands doing great work. We will not be able to be successful without the help of our District. If your organization could please invite us to serve, speak, or perform omething for you, we would greatly appreciate the ability to raise extra dollars to go toward the Grand Assembly Expenses. Another way to assist would be for your organization to provide us with the work you do. We will need people to help build and set up the East for Grand Assembly. We will need items to sell to raise money. We will need a strong presence of Masons, Amaranth, Eastern Star, etc. from our District throughout the 2018 Grand Assembly (June 22nd-26th) We will need to provide the Florida Rainbow Girls, all of the Grand Officers, and distinguished guests small gifts during the term and at Grand Assembly. Many hands make great work, so we need Many hands to help us make Ansley Rae's term great for the entire state. This is the perfect time to bring in more girls to our Assembly! One of the most exciting times for an assembly is when you have the GWA. It helps to ignite a girl's enthusiasm for the order so they wish to stay for life. If you know of a young lady who may be interested in joining our Assembly or pledge group, please contact one of our advisors: Mom Toni/Mother Advisor (954)290-1916 (pagetrae@yahoo.com), Mom Terry/ Grand Deputy (954)804-1746, or Mom Ellen/Advisory Board Chair (954)830-1349. We so hope to kick off Ansley Rae's term with the initiation of more girls into Hollywood 12. Thank you to our wonderful District for all of the support you have provided us in the past year so that we were able to attend Grand Assembly. We could not have attained the honors we have without you being a large part of the cornerstone of the foundation of our assembly. Please know how much we appreciate you. We look forward to serving you at the Grand Master dinner in July. A message from our Hosting Worshipful Master!!! Greeting from Roe Fulkerson Lodge No. 299. We are honored to host The Masters and Wardens Association of the 26th Masonic District. Here is a quote from Brother Benjamin Franklin: Masonic labor is purely a labor of love. He who seeks to draw Masonic wages in gold and silver will be disappointed. The wages of a Mason are in the dealings with one another; sympathy begets sympathy, kindness begets kindness, helpfulness begets helpfulness, and these are the wages of a Mason. Something to think about my Brothers. As for Roe Fulkerson Lodge No. 299, we have a lot going on this month. We will be hosting our two Stated Communications on the first and third Thursdays of the Month, dinner is at 6:00pm followed at 7:30pm for the meeting. On Saturday July 9, 2017 we will be having a lodge cleanup day starting at 8:30am. Then on Thursday July 27, 2017 we will be holding a fellow Craft degree, dinner will be at 6:00pm followed by the degree at 7:00pm. Always on the Level. W:. Jeffrey Passin, W:.M:.
