It seems like yesterday that I was getting ready to be the unit s new Flotilla Commander. Time certainly flies in an organization such as ours. Two issues ago, I spoke about mission readiness and what that means. The message seems to be have been heard and understood across the Flotilla as we have seen marked improvement in many areas. In addition, I set twelve goals for the Flotilla when I assumed command last January: Leadership Continuity Leadership Visibility Unit Schedule/ Training Schedule; 30/90/365 Unit Standardization Unit Logistics Responsibility Program Tacoma Outboard Association/Flotilla 33 Facility Use Contract Uniform and Appearance Flotilla Standing Rules Publication of Unit Newsletter Internal Communication Improvement Quality Recruiting and Retention Program Creation of unique Unit Insignia We have accomplished almost if not all of these goals in nine months. This was a tremendous undertaking by members and staff. Although many of these tasks were frustrating and challenging, we managed to adapt, overcome, and improvise. As we look to finishing this year and project for next year, we will be looking to refine these accomplishments. Hopefully, all things considered, we will be able to operate more efficiently and cohesively than ever before. Our Flotilla is constantly moving forward, and we look to always improve our readiness and the way we do business. I want to thank all those involved for a job well done. Keep up the good work, and continue to strive for excellence in all we do. Respectfully, Steven K., Flotilla Commander Program Visits: Tony Merola Secretary: Mary Bellona Vessel Examinations: Robert Zimmerle 2
