Training (in French) by CATHERINE LEVASSEUR This training session will help you identify the factors that determine the efficient cause of sale, while examining conciliation and arbitration jurisdiction in cases of dispute. CATHERINE LEVASSEUR is assistant manager of the Professional Practices Department at the Québec Federation of Real Estate Boards (QFREB). As such, she manages files relating to claims for compensation submitted by members through the QFREB s conciliation and arbitration process. The notion of efficient cause of sale and the criteria for decision-making are part of her daily work. She will share her expertise on these issues and, by referring to arbitration decisions rendered over the years, she will explain the best ways to protect your right to compensation in a real estate transaction. Démystifier les copropriétés divises et indivises lors d une transaction Training (in French) by DOMINIC LEBEAU and MTRE. NADA NAJM This training session will inform brokers of the professional actions they should take in transactions involving a divided or undivided co-ownership (condominium). This conference will focus on understanding the documents relating to condominiums, reading the certificate of location, identifying the different cadastres, using the Request for Information to the Syndicate of Co-Owners form, the Seller s Declaration form and other forms, the right of redemption and pre-emptive right, as well as the legal aspects you should verify during the transaction. He is also a professor at the Collège de l immobilier du Québec where he teaches architecture, valuation, the drafting of residential contracts and commercial finance. Mr. Lebeau is the author of the manual entitled Architecture, which is used for the Valuation II course. He was a trainer for the GMREB in 2007-2008, and he designed the residential real estate brokerage simulation day offered by the Collège de l immobilier du Québec. MTRE. NADA NAJM has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 1994, and practiced real estate law for many years before becoming a professor and trainer at the Collège de l immobilier du Québec in 1998. She is vice-president of the Organisme d autoréglementation du courtage immobilier du Québec s (OACIQ s) Indemnity Committee, a position she has held since January 2012. Mtre. Najm has an in-depth understanding of divided co-ownerships in Québec. She has been a conference speaker and coach for many years in the area of professional practices for real estate and mortgage brokers, serving various real estate agencies. 11

Mtre. Fortier has represented several real estate brokers and agencies. He is also an experienced conciliator and mediator in the branches of civil and commercial law. 2014 GMREB Tour Pur Entrepreneurship At the 2014 Tour, the GMREB management team will present the latest developments taking place at the GMREB, Centris and the QFREB. Furthermore, in collaboration with the regional groups, the GMREB will present a personal conference by NICOLAS DUVERNOIS, president and founder of PUR Vodka. Mr. Duvernois will talk about his journey that led to the creation of PUR Vodka, the first vodka that is not only produced entirely in Québec, but that has been recognized as the most titled vodka in Canada! Hands-on Workshop: Using the ipad in Real Estate For Beginners During this guided workshop, you will learn how to comfortably use ios 8, the ipad s new operating system.
