EXIT 143 KUALA KANGSAR Jambatan Victoria Exit 143 Kuala Kangsar 18km The 114 year old bridge, also known as Jambatan Enggor, is a railroad bridge in Kuala Kangsar that crosses Sungai Perak. Built in 1897, it is also the earliest railroad bridge in the country. The bridge took three years to complete before it was officiated in 1900 in a ceremony attended by the Sultan of Perak at the time, Sultan Idris Mursyidul Azam Shah. Standing at 85 feet, the tower features 110 stair steps. Despite being built in 1885, the 130 year old tower still stands strong at the heart of Teluk Intan. Previously used as a reservoir tank to supply water to the locals, the tower is also equipped with a big clock that chimes every 15 minutes. The tower appears to lean to the northern direction due to an overbearing weight of the water, thus regarding it as the second leaning tower in the world.
