What is the SDS? Safety Data Sheets are used as a source of info about hazards, including environmental hazards, and to obtain advice on safety precautions. Safety Data Sheets are an essential component of the GHS (Global Harmonized System). How many sections does the SDS have? 16 Some examples: sections spell out the safe handling instructions, what to do in case of a spill, and first aid measures. What does the SDS replace? Tool and equipment safety and use will be taught during the fall teaching series. The first hour of will be classroom learning, then one hour of hands on tool use. Jr high students will only be allowed to use hand tools and hand power tools (drills). IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN TRAINED ON A TOOL, DO NOT USE IT. Ask a mentor for help Safety

EXPECTATIONS For Fall Teaching, Build Season, and Competition Season Expectations
In the fall, we will meet Wednesdays from 3:30-5:30 pm. During Build Season (January 7 February 21st) the team will meet every day. You must attend Monday and Saturday meetings and at least one other day during each week. We have our team meeting at lunch on Saturday. You will be required to attend kick off on Saturday, January 7 th from 9 am to 3 pm. You must commit to attending both competitions. At a minimum, you will be expected to help with tag day fundraising. Parents will be asked to help for 10 hours. This can be anything from setting up lunches to helping build a website. Applications are to be completed on line Safety Permission Slips should be handed in next week. Expectations
Monday Group Day 6-8 pm Students are required to work 2 hours/week on a group other than the robot on Mondays between 6-8 pm. Categories are: Chairman s Entrepreneurship Website PR Imagery Programming Safety Students will need 60 hours between kick off and stop build date to travel to competitions with the team. That is 6 hours on Saturday, 2 hours on Monday, and at least 2 hours any other day. Hours will be added every two weeks. Students will have a skills sheet and game quiz to complete. Students are required to maintain a C- in every class to travel to competition. If you need help, please let us know. FHS is looking into elective credit for robotics. Any student not meeting these goals will be asked to leave the team. Expectations
