GOAL This workshop will provide a unique opportunity for oncologists and other health professionals to hear from leading experts in medical oncology as well as clinical and translational research. This educational workshop is directed toward medical oncologists, translational researchers (MDs and PhDs), study coordinators, oncology nurses and advanced practice providers, and drug developers from academia and industry interested in cancer drug development. Other health professionals interested in the treatment of cancer are also invited to attend. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES After attending this conference, participants should be able to: Incorporate the appropriate referral of patients for consideration of clinical trials into clinical practice (knowledge, competence, performance); Incorporate the latest data on novel therapies for common cancers into clinical practice (knowledge, competence, performance); Assimilate the latest emerging therapies or refer patients for consideration of clinical trials to improve patient outcomes (knowledge, competence, performance, patient outcomes); and Practice precision medicine and incorporate appropriate tests in clinical practice (knowledge, competence, performance, patient outcomes). TARGET AUDIENCE This conference should be of value to physicians, fellows, investigators, study coordinators, oncology nurses and advanced practice providers. EDUCATIONAL METHODS Lectures Questions and Answers EVALUATION A course evaluation form will provide participants with the opportunity to comment on the value of the program content to their practice decisions, performance improvement activities, or possible impact on patient health status. Participants will also have the opportunity to comment on any perceived commercial bias in the presentations as well as to identify future educational topics. ACCREDITATION/ CREDIT DESIGNATION The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center designates this live activity for a maximum of 6.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. CME CERTIFICATES AND ATTENDANCE VERIFICATION CERTIFICATES Certificates awarding AMA PRA Category 1 Credit or certificates documenting attendance will be distributed to participants when an individual departs the conference. To obtain a CME certificate, physicians must submit a completed evaluation questionnaire and a CME Verification Form. REGISTRATION INFORMATION On-site registration opens at 8:00 am on Friday, November 3, 2017 at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Duncan Building (CPB), Floor 8 Conference Center, 1155 Pressler Street, Houston, Texas. The opening session of the conference will begin at 8:50 am and adjourn at 5:00 pm. Advanced registration is encouraged as space and materials are limited.
