Chamber Advantage Card Your free offer to the 20,000 employees of Chamber member companies can be a significant traffic builder for your business. Give them a unique offer and watch them use it! What advice would you give to a new business owner, or someone who is relatively new to the area? I was asking that question when I started my own business almost two years ago, after living somewhere else for 20 years. I was looking for the best way to get connected to those who care about this community and are getting things done. The advice I got turned out to be right on target; I joined The Chamber and became an Ambassador. The results have been fantastic. Our vision for our business was largely based on the dream to start a successful business in Manitowoc. We live in a wonderful community and the support of The Chamber and local businesses has been greater than we could have expected. Being involved with The Chamber of Commerce has made us acutely aware of how important it is to support businesses in our area. They provide the food and refreshments and get to show off a bit while you have a valuable chance to meet up with other business folks. It s a real win-win! Serving on The Chamber Board has given me tremendous new opportunities from several perspectives. Learning more about our county has been one of the best things about being a Board member. Although I am a Two Rivers native and nearly life long resident, I am continually amazed to learn more about all of the wonderful treasures we have in this area. Working with fellow business colleagues and community members to keep our county strong, vibrant and growing is exciting and rewarding. Meeting new people and building personal and business relationships is definitely another attribute of serving on the Board. Although we accomplish a great amount of work as a team, we also have much fun! Marcia Donlon Holy Family Memorial and Member of The Chamber s Board of Directors Page 6
