Minutes from the May 1, 2017 Committee meeting were approved. 3. Scope of Practice Guidelines: 107 pre-approved scopes were submitted by applicants. The Committee approved 2 scopes reviewed by Ms. Green. The Committee approved 28 scopes reviewed by Dr. Gardner. The Committee approved 15 scopes reviewed by Mr. Irvin. The Committee approved 1 scopes reviewed by Dr. Otruba. The Committee approved 0 scopes reviewed by Dr. Smith. The Committee approved 0 scopes reviewed by Mrs. Hampton The Committee approved 0 scopes reviewed by Dr. Neilsen The Committee approved 61 scopes reviewed by LLR Board-approved scopes. After discussion, Dr. Gardner made a motion to approve the request as listed. 1) Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter approved basic level, general supervision. 2) Chest/Arm Ports Centro Venous approved basic level, general supervision. After discussion, Ms. Green made a motion to approve this request. Mr. Irvin seconded the motion. All 3) Ultrasound Guided Biopsies approved basic level, general supervision. After discussion, Mr. Irvin made a motion to approve this request. Dr. Neilsen seconded the motion. All 4) IVC Filters approved, direct supervision. 5) Arthrography (Shoulder, Hip, Knee, Wrist) approved basic level, general supervision. 6) Lumbar Myelogram approved, direct supervision. After discussion, Dr. Gardner made a motion to approve this request. Ms. Day seconded the motion. All 7) Lumbar Puncture with Fluoroscopy approved basic level, general supervision. 8) Ultrasound Guided Thoracentesis approved basic level, general supervision. After discussion, Dr. Gardner made a motion to approve this request. Ms. Hill seconded the motion. All 9) Ultrasound Guided Paracentesis approved basic level, general supervision. After discussion, Dr. Gardner made a motion to approve this request. Ms. Hill seconded the motion. All Page 3 of 5

10) CT Guided Abscess/Pleural Catheters approved, direct supervision. 11) CT Guided Biopsies (Include Lung, Liver) approved, direct supervision. 12) Tunneled Pleural/Peritoneal Catheters approved basic level, general supervision. 13) Temporary and Tunnel Venous Dialysis Catheters approved basic level, general supervision. 6. Requests for Off-Site Practice A. Joanna S. Harvey, P.A., Supervising physician: Dr. Randi K. Popp, represented by Travis Dayhuff Esq. requested off-site practice for sixty to one hundred (60 100) mile radius to provide chronic wound care only to patients in long-term care facilities in Mount Pleasant, North Charleston, Moncks Corner, Saint George, and Orangeburg. Controlled substances will not be prescribed to long-term care facility patients. The Physician Assistant is to be well supervised with a very attendant supervising physician in safe practice at all times. B. Jennifer B. Fleming, P.A., Supervising physician: Dr. Julie K. Washko, requested off-site practice for sixty one (61) miles from practice site. After discussion, Dr. Gardner made a motion to table this request contingent upon Ms. Fleming and/or Dr. Washko request an appearance before the PA Committee to answer questions regarding the off-site practice request for further review of this application. 7. Review and discussion of additional proposed standard template Scope of Practice. The PA Committee reviewed additional standard scope for Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. After discussion, Mr. Irvin made a motion to approve as standard scope as presented by Mr. Irvin. Ms. Day seconded the motion. All Page 4 of 5

8. Chair Report and Administrator s Report Mr. Spoon reminded the Physician Assistant Committee members that PA license renewal begins October 1, 2017 and ends December 31, 2017. Per South Carolina General Assembly House Bill A91, R113,H3824, Summary: Prescription drug monitoring program states a Physician Assistant holding an active DHEC DEA registration must complete four (4) category 1 hours in prescribing and monitoring controlled substances. South Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants (SCAPA), and South Carolina Medical Association will be offering this course to all interested PA s. All Physician Assistants should provide active NCCPA verification certification (www.nccpa.net), update their contact information to include e-mail address, and Congressional District using link https://eservices.llr.sc.gov/changeofadd/. Due to cybersecurity updates staff will not be allowed to provide this information via telephone or e-mail. Ms. Green made a motion to adjourn at 4:03 p.m. unanimously.
